Ariana Grande opens up about her emotional experience during filming of upcoming 'Wicked' musical
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ariana Grande shared her unique experience while filming her first movie, ‘Wicked’.
During her recent appearance on Broadway Podcast Network's ‘Sentimental Men', the artist opened up on the emotional side while shooting with director Jon M Chu, and co-stars Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey.
“Everyone cried. It was really beautiful," before adding, “So that was terrible.”

Talking about her meeting with Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, the stars who originated Elphaba the Wicked Witch and Glinda the Good Witch, during a backstage tour, Ariana Grande shared, “Idina gave me a little green bracelet,” and Chenoweth “gave me a little wand, which feels so full circle and insane. And a body wash that had glitter in it, and she said it was magical. And now I really believe that it was!”
During the auditioning process, the ‘Glinda’ singer revealed that she “had cried so much,” she said during the podcast, reported People.
“The best, most formidable actress and singer that there is,” the singer said of Erivo.
Cynthia Erivo enraged with edited 'Wicked' poster
Cynthia Erivo recently slammed an edited poster by a fan page on social media, which was seen by millions, and was captioned “Fixing the Wicked movie poster.”
The altered poster looked similar to the Broadway version, The Wrap reported.
The main edit involved shadowing Erivo’s eyes and changing her lips to red, much like the musical’s Playbill. There were also minor changes made to Grande’s appearance.
“This is the wildest, most offensive thing I have seen,” Erivo wrote on her October 16 Instagram Story, sharing the doctored poster.
She compared the edit to inappropriate questions she's received about her green skin in the film.
“None of this is funny. None of it is cute. It degrades me. It degrades us," she posted.
Erivo further explained in her Instagram post, emphasizing the difference between the film and the musical versions of 'Wicked'.
“The original poster is an ILLUSTRATION. I am a real-life human being, who chose to look right down the barrel of the camera to you, the viewer… because, without words, we communicate with our eyes,” she said.
‘Wicked: Part One’ will hit theaters on November 22, followed by its sequel next year.
