LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ariana Grande recently expressed her support for Hunter Schafer after the transgender star slammed President Donald Trump's gender policies.

Schafer revealed last week that her gender was changed on her passport without her consent and she took to social media to slam Trump's gender policies, according to Mirror US.

Hunter Schafer revealed in her social media post that her new passport incorrectly identifies her as "male" despite having been legally recognized as "female" since her teenage years, per the outlet.

She said in a TikTok video, "I was shocked. I just didn't think it was actually going to happen" as she took a dig at Trump's policies.

Supporting Schafer, the 'Wicked' star posted a photo of Hunter on her Instagram Story and wrote, "Trans people are beautiful. We are never going to stop existing. I am never going to stop being trans. A letter on a passport can't change that. And f*** this administration."

Notably,  Trump signed an executive order on his first day back in office and recognized only two genders - male and female - and declared they cannot be changed.

This implies that the US now issues passports with just male or female designations, based on a person's gender recorded at birth, per the Irish Star.

Meanwhile, Hunter revealed that she had applied for a new passport after losing her old one while filming in Barcelona, per the outlet.

As per her post, she filled out forms mentioning she was female but when her passport was replaced, her gender was listed as male.

She said, "I had a bit of a harsh reality check today and felt like it's important to share with whoever is listening. So I'm sure most of us remember on, I think the first day of Trump's presidency, he signed an executive order to declare only two genders recognized by the state - male and female assigned at birth."

"And as a result of this, which I wrote down because I want to get it right, the Borough of Consular Affairs has frozen passport applications requesting a gender marker change or renewals or new applications with a gender marker deferring from an applicant’s gender assigned at birth," she mentioned.

Schafer added, "I'm not making this post to fearmonger or to create drama or receive consolation. I don't need it. But I do think it's worth posting to sort of note the reality of the situation and that it is actually happening."
