LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actor Armie Hammer stated that he has "never been happier" even though he was "broke" and "canceled" for sexual assault and "cannibal" accusations over three years ago.
Hammer actor faced sexual misconduct and rape allegations in 2021 from several women—most notably from his ex-girlfriend Effie Angelova, who shared images allegedly from the actor where he discussed cannibalistic fetishes, per Page Six.
More than three years after the initial event, Hammer has been setting the record straight in an interview on Monday, July 14, on Bill Maher's 'Club Random.'
Armie Hammer asserts he's 'never been happier'
The 'Call Me By Your Name' star opened up on Monday's 'Club Random' podcast episode, describing how the sexual assault charges in 2021 brought him to ruin financially and how his own family turned away from him.
Speaking to Maher, Hammer, 37, said, "Someone might look at me and go, ‘Yeah, but financially, you’re in a very different position than you’ve ever been in your entire life.'"
"And I look at that and I go, ‘Yeah, And you know what it’s taught me is that I don’t need that because I’ve never been happier than I’ve ever been in my entire life,'" 'The Lone Ranger' star added.
Hammer said that his lifestyle would have led to his death before losing his money, saying, "I know that that would ultimately lead in one place and that’s death."

Hammer added that he was sober following his admission to rehab for his drug, alcohol, and sex addictions.
"I was making a lot of money. I was drinking a lot. I was doing a lot of drugs. I was partying hard. I was being real fast and loose about what I put in text messages. And I was also engaging in risky behavior that, if you really think about it, was stupid."
Hammer added, "Therapy for me has been a life changer. I needed an adjustment… the cataclysmic tectonic shift in my life wouldn’t have happened."
"My life would have kept going exactly as it was, and I know that would ultimately only lead in one place and that’s death," the actor explained, per People.
Armie Hammer describes being canceled as 'liberating' despite being 'broke'
'The Lone Ranger' actor revealed that he went through "career death," "ego death," and "financial death" as a result of several women coming forward and accusing Hammer of being into "cannibalism" and abusing them sexually.
Hammer clarified that although sexual abuse accusations surfaced in January 2021 and left him broke, the experience was "incredibly liberating." He told Maher that even his family did not help him with money.
Speaking of the experience of being canceled and dropped by his agent and publicist following the allegations, Hammer exclaimed, "It was pretty great," per E! News.
"It’s incredibly liberating, because so much of my life leading up to there was being preoccupied with how I was perceived, which now you don't have to care about."
He continued, alluding to the time when "everyone just [deciding] that they hate" him, saying, "The good place only comes from walking through hell."
Hammer said, "Once everyone just decides that they hate you, you go, ‘Oh, well, then I don’t need anything from you people anyway. I guess I should just learn to be content with myself’ and it feels f***ing amazing."
The 'Social Network' alum was accused of several offenses in 2021, including carving his initials into a woman's body, forcing his partners into BDSM instances in the bedroom, and having cannibalistic fantasies.
Armie Hammer swiftly faded from the global limelight in February 2021 following allegations that he had "mentally, emotionally, and sexually" abused his ex-girlfriend Effie Angelova, who was 20 years old at the time and is now 26.
