Arnold Schwarzenegger is a 'lot less mobile' than he used to be

Arnold Schwarzenegger, who used to make fun of "weaklings", has reportedly had to change up his workout regimen to accommodate his older physique and avoid further injuries.

Speaking to the outlet, a source revealed, "He has put his body through torture during his bodybuilding days and his Hollywood heyday during which he did many of his own stunts, and he's paid a hefty price."

"He did a lot of damage that resulted in multiple injuries," they added.

Schwarzenegger has had surgery on a number of body parts, including his rotator cuff, back, leg, shoulder, and both knees, so it's not just a few bumps and bruises.

He has also undergone a hip replacement, pacemaker implantation, and three open-heart procedures. Since he still has to cope with aches and pains every day, the effects of his injuries are still noticeable.

"The aches and pain still linger to this day. He's a lot less mobile than he used to be," the source added.

Arnold Schwarzenegger 'taking better care of himself' after years of intense workout

According to Arnold Schwarzenegger's representative, the Hollywood actor "has trained with weights for more than six decades and still does at 77".

"He shares workouts in his free daily newsletter, Arnold’s Pump Club, and shares his current workout in his fitness app, The Pump," they added.

The former Mr Universe, however, is now "taking better care of himself and adapted a workout regime that's kinder to his old body, so he doesn't overexert himself".

A second source said that Schwarzenegger "realizes he doesn't have to lift a ton of weights to get results" and now utilizes body-weight workouts and resistance bands along with barbells.

Schwarzenegger's resolve to maintain an active lifestyle while navigating the difficulties of aging is reflected in this change in strategy. The source added, "It's the less-is-more philosophy and he's feeling better because of it."

Arnold Schwarzenegger had pacemaker installed following three open heart surgeries

'Terminator' star Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has a congenital heart abnormality, revealed on his 'Arnold's Pump Club' podcast that he underwent three open heart operations before being fitted for a pacemaker in March.

Schwarzenegger told his listeners at the time: "Last Monday, I had surgery to become a little bit more of a machine. I got a pacemaker. I have to tell you, just saying this to all of you goes against so much of my upbringing in Austria, where nobody ever talked about medical issues."

"Everything related to health care was kept to yourself. But I’ve gotten so many messages and emails from people who were born with a bicuspid aortic valve, like me, telling me that talking about my valve replacement surgeries has given them courage and hope to deal with their own," he continued.

He added, "So, since I know that going against my secretive instinct and being transparent helps people, what choice do I have?" per the New York Post.

The installation will supply enough energy to power AltaSea’s 35-acre campus, the country’s biggest 'blue economy' tech hub, which is focused on clean oceans, climate resiliency, and clean energy.

Schwarzenegger underwent major heart surgery in 2018 to replace his pulmonary valve after having one done in 1997. In 2020, he also had heart surgery to repair an aortic valve.
