LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Arnold Schwarzenegger gathered his children to celebrate the Season 2 premiere of his Netflix action-comedy 'Fubar' in Los Angeles on Wednesday, June 11.

While all five of Schwarzenegger’s children were present at the high-profile event, they didn’t appear together in a single group photo, highlighting an ongoing divide that’s followed the family for over a decade.

The 77-year-old actor and former California governor posed first with Katherine, Christina, Patrick, and Christopher, the four children he shares with ex-wife Maria Shriver. Katherine’s husband, actor Chris Pratt, also joined in. Smiling and coordinated, the family looked every bit the picture of Hollywood polish.

Minutes later, Schwarzenegger posed separately with his fifth child, Joseph Baena, his 27-year-old son from a past relationship with longtime housekeeper Mildred Baena. Though father and son appeared happy in the moment, many couldn’t help but notice the continued absence of any public interaction between Joseph and his half-siblings.

This isn’t the first time Joseph has been publicly left out of the group.

A similar photo separation occurred at 'Fubar's first-season launch, but the young actor and fitness influencer has remained gracious throughout, often praising his father while navigating the complexities of being the “other son” in a famous family.

Despite persistent speculation around his relationship with his half-siblings, Joseph told 'Good Morning Britain' earlier this year that he's chosen to carry his mother's surname to build his legacy. “I think the main thing is I’m trying to do things on my own,” he explained. “To figure it out, that’s what I’ve been doing.”

Joseph is now following in his father’s cinematic footsteps. His upcoming role in the action film Gunner, starring alongside Morgan Freeman and Luke Hemsworth, marks his biggest screen opportunity to date. “It’s such an honor,” he said. “I’ve been working really hard.”

Back at the 'Fubar' premiere, Schwarzenegger expressed about potential desire to work with his children in the future, including a collaboration with Patrick, who recently appeared in HBO’s 'The White Lotus'. “If there’s a good script, you will, of course, think about that, but right now, just let him go and do his own thing,” he told Extra.

When asked whether he’d consider working with son-in-law Chris Pratt too, Schwarzenegger chuckled and said, “Could easily be… Who knows.”

Maria Shriver reveals pain she faced after Arnold Schwarzenegger’s affair in new book

More than a decade has passed since Maria Shriver filed for divorce in 2011 after Arnold Schwarzenegger’s affair became public, but the ripple effects are still visible.

In her recent memoir 'I Am Maria', Shriver wrote candidly about the emotional devastation that followed the revelation, a time she described as “brutal” and “consumed with grief”.

“I was consumed with grief and wracked with confusion, anger, fear, sadness and anxiety,” Shriver penned. “I was unsure now of who I was, where I belonged. Honestly, it was brutal, and I was terrified. As I sat on my hotel room floor in the dark, alone with tears streaming down my face, I thought to myself: Maria, this doesn’t have to be the end of you.”

Reflecting on that challenging chapter in her life, Shriver shared that she had to confront some deeply ingrained beliefs, particularly around aging and being alone. “I’ve also had to come face to face with other misguided beliefs — about aging, about being alone. I used to believe that if you didn’t have a partner, you must be unworthy and unlovable. I’ve learned that nothing could be further from the truth.”

Though Schwarzenegger has maintained a strong relationship with Joseph and publicly treats him equally, reports continue to suggest that Joseph remains estranged from his half-siblings.

A 2023 insider told Page Six, “The other kids don’t love Joe. It’s a shame as he’s a really good kid, and Arnold has always treated him like all his other kids — very fairly. But for whatever reason, the other kids take (the affair) out on Joe.”
