LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former Disney Channel star Ashley Tisdale is being sued by a woman named Lina Gonzales who claims she was seriously hurt in a car accident caused by the former Disney star. However, Tisdale disputed all the charges of misconduct in the lawsuit.

According to the lawyer for the alleged victim, the woman had previously requested $600,000 in damages which had been denied. The 38-year-old actress requested that the court reject all of Lina Gonzales's accusations, per court documents obtained by Radar Online.

Ashley Tisdale contends the woman suffered injuries because of third parties and not her

According to Tisdale's newly submitted response, "If plaintiff suffered or sustained loss, damage or injury as alleged in the complaint, such loss, damage or injury was proximately caused and contributed to by plaintiff in failing to conduct himself in a manner ordinarily expected of a reasonably prudent person in the conduct of their affairs and person."

The 'High School Musical' star contended that if the woman was hurt, it was because of third parties, not because of her. The actress further disputed that she was reckless on the relevant day.

She requested the instant dismissal of the entire action. Her motion has not yet been decided by a judge.

Ashley Tisdale's car accident lawsuit explained

Lina Gonzales, the victim, filed a case in Los Angeles Superior Court against Tisdale in September 2023. In the lawsuit, the plaintiff claimed that Tisdale was at fault for the September 6, 2022, collision on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles due to negligence.

The victim alleged in the lawsuit that Tisdale had driven her vehicle "in a negligent and reckless manner." Gonzales initially demanded damages from Tisdale and claimed that she had spent about $140,000 on medical expenses.

The woman claimed to have lost her job, incurred medical costs, and experienced a loss of love and security. In her claim, she sought from Tisdale an unspecified amount of damages.

According to the former's lawyer Michael R Parker, Gonzales was meant to turn left when Tisdale hit her car while allegedly changing lanes.

Gonzales' lawyer claimed that they had already contacted Tisdale about damages. Gonzales asserted that she had serious back and neck pain, and she requested a settlement of $600,000 from Tisdale, but the actress turned it down.

The attorney charged that Tisdale had made a "big fuss" over the matter and had even called Gonzales derogatory names.

Tisdale's attorney refuted allegations that the actor cursed at the site of the accident at the time the lawsuit was filed. The actor further claimed that after exchanging information, the two departed.

Ashley Tisdale previously involved in another controversy with Kevin Smith

In a previous controversy, Tisdale had called out director Kevin Smith on X (formerly Twitter) for causing damage to her car and driving off without saying sorry.

Tisdale, who lives next door to Smith, described the occurrence as a "classy move." Tisdale posted a tweet at the time, saying, "Thanks @ThatKevinSmith for scratching my mirror on my car and not stopping. Classy move neighbor!"

Hours later, the 'Clerks' director apologized and referred to her Sharpay Evans character from 'High School Musical.'

"Apologies – I drive like Cruella de Vil in the Hills! However, I *did * do a courtesy stop," Smith quipped, "Then when you pulled away first, I was like ‘That’s soooo Sharpay…"

"HA! Apology accepted," Tisdale retorted with a happy smile, per PEOPLE.
