Julie Chrisley teaches real estate to inmates, reveals how earning credit could help her 'early release'
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: Julie Chrisley keeps herself engaged and productive with work commitments in prison.
On Tuesday, March 5, her daughter Savannah Chrisley read excerpts from the letters from prison on her 'Unlocked' podcast. She shared her mother's weekly routine within the prison walls, as reported by People.

In one of the letters, the reality star wrote, "I'm teaching a real estate class and I asked where I could get the info for the class."
She continued "There's an outdated book and access to a typewriter if you buy the ribbon and commissary."
Additionally, the 51-year-old has enrolled as a student in other prison courses.
"I have two classes tonight, too, and also being a judge for one of the other classes. I'm one of the sharks for their Shark Tank presentation," Chrisley added.
Julie's engagement in the First Step Act (FSA) classes is aimed at providing the prison inmates with credits for "an early release."
These "reentry programs" are "designed to ensure all sentenced inmates have the skills necessary to succeed upon release," according to the Bureau of Prisons.

In the letter, Julie mentioned that her first FSA course "really was a waste of time, but at least I get credit."
However, she acknowledged the re-entry program's positive impact on fellow inmates.
"I went upstairs and everyone was going crazy. FSA credits had been applied and so many people's dates got moved up," she wrote."It's going to be a crazy week. Lots of people are getting released."
The letters Savannah read on Tuesday's episode of her podcast were written during her mother's first few weeks at Kentucky's Federal Medical Center Lexington in Kentucky.
In January 2023, Julie, 54, was imprisoned as her husband, Todd Chrisley entered Florida's Federal Medical Center Pensacola.
After being convicted of fraud and tax evasion, the couple were originally sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison. However, subsequent legal maneuvers have reduced Todd's sentence to 10 years and Julie's to 5 years.
It remains unclear if she is continuing with her prison courses or if she is taking her real estate classes.
