SWEDEN: The ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ actor Bill Skarsgård was asked to pay a fine after he pled guilty to drug charges.

The 33-year-old then pled guilty to drug possession and was eventually fined 40,000 Swedish krona, which is around USD 3,825.
The Swedish star did reportedly not have to serve his time in jail or face probation or parole.
Daily Mail citing the Nordic Alcohol and Drug Policy Network (NordAN) reported that Sweden has deemed marijuana illegal.
NordAN on its website states that “Use (consumption), possession, manufacturing, and distribution of illicit drugs are criminal offences that can lead to fines or imprisonment up to 10 years.”
It also notes, “As individual substances are not regulated separately, penalties depend on such factors as the amount of possession of certain substances and their perceived dangerousness.”
‘Alcohol is so much worse’
Meanwhile, people on the internet have reacted to Bill’s arrest and sentencing with a Reddit user commenting, “First Austria taxes Arnold's watch and now this?! What's next?! Iceland institutionalizing Björk for not making any sense?!”
Another user wrote, “At least it wasn’t Russia.”
“The horror! The world really needs to get with the times and current research on MJ. Alcohol is so much worse, both physically and socially,” the third user shared.
“That sucks… hopefully their laws aren’t hardcore for marijuana,” the fourth one stated.
The fifth user added, “These moments, I am proud to be and say I am a Canadian. Just purchased 28 grams(legal limit) from Canna Cabana an hr ago.”
Bill Skarsgård said he ‘wanted to be an actor ever since I was a little kid’
This came after in a 2016 interview, the ‘It’ star revealed that he did not want his famous family’s help in his acting career.
Bill is the son of Stellan Skarsgård and brother of Alexander and Gustaf Skarsgård.
He told PEOPLE, “I wanted to be an actor ever since I was a little kid. But as I got into my teenage years I thought, is it really me wanting this or because I want to follow in my dad’s footsteps?”
The ‘Hemlock Grove’ actor continued, “I’ve always felt a very strong need to do it myself. The association with my brothers and my father is already so big, I didn’t want them to have anything to do with what I did.”
“I needed them to feel that I am completely responsible for what I do,” Bill added.
