Atlanta rapper Young Scooter dies on 39th birthday after fleeing from police and hospitalization

ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Atlanta’s hip-hop community is mourning the sudden loss of rapper Young Scooter, born Kenneth Edward Bailey, who died on March 28, the same day he turned 39.
Reports from multiple outlets, including 11 Alive, Variety, and Atlanta News First, confirmed his death, citing the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.

However, the Atlanta Police Department has yet to officially release the name of the deceased.
Young Scooter's tragic incident and disturbing 911 call
The tragic chain of events began when police responded to a distressing 911 call at a home on William Nye Drive.
Authorities stated that the call reported a violent dispute, mentioning gunfire and a woman being forcibly dragged back into the residence.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers knocked on the door, which was briefly opened by a male before being shut in their faces without any explanation.
Law enforcement then established a perimeter around the residence, during which two men attempted to flee the scene.

One of them later returned to the house, while the other, who was later identified as Young Scooter, tried to escape by jumping over two fences.
Young Scooter's fatal attempt to flee
According to police statements, Young Scooter sustained a serious leg injury after jumping the fences.
When officers located him on the other side, they provided immediate medical aid before transporting him to Grady Hospital.
Tragically, he was pronounced dead upon arrival, according to People.
Authorities confirmed that no police officers fired their weapons during the incident.

Born in Walterboro, South Carolina, Young Scooter moved to Atlanta’s Kirkwood neighborhood at the age of nine.
He entered the rap scene in 2008, following a drug trafficking charge, and built a reputation with his raw lyrics and street-oriented storytelling.
A longtime friend and collaborator of Future, he signed with the rapper’s Freebandz label in 2012 and later joined Waka Flocka Flame’s Brick Squad Monopoly in 2013.
Throughout his career, he gained recognition for hits like 'Colombia' and “Street Lottery,” solidifying his presence in the Southern hip-hop community.
As the investigation continues, many questions remain unanswered regarding the circumstances leading to Young Scooter’s death.
