WATCH: Fran Lebowitz shades red state Arizona, says no one needs it while discussing Harris' border visit
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bill Maher invited Fran Lebowitz to discuss ongoing current events, but the writer didn’t take long to make another controversial statement.
While discussing Kamala Harris' border visit in Douglas, Arizona, the host asked Lebowitz, "What are your thoughts on Kamala's trip to the border?"
The author responded by shading the red state, “I don't think anyone needs Arizona," before adding that she would suggest Vladimir Putin "take Arizona, leave Ukraine."

Fran Lebowitz's controversial remark on Arizona, Nashville, and other red states
Bill Maher tried to defend Arizona and other red states by saying, “There are plenty of intelligent people in Nashville and Arizona. They come out to see you."
"Not plenty. Look at their politicians. Look at who they elect," Lebowitz replied.
Maher also reminded the writer that she’ll be visiting Nashville soon, "You're going to a red state. You don't want to insult all the red states, you go there."
However, she continued to shade red saying, "I go to Nashville and I say 'Really Nashville?'" implying Tennessee, which is another state governed by the Republican party.
During the show, Maher also suggested that Donald Trump is "definitely going to lose" in the upcoming election against Harris.
Maher’s latest episode of 'Real Time with Bill Maher' also included notable guests, such as Israeli historian Yuval Noah Harari, and political consultant Ian Bremmer, per Mediaite.
Internet slams Fran Lebowitz for poking fun at Arizona and Nashville
Netizens expressed their displeasure over Fran Lebowitz's remark on Arizona and other red states at large. The writer called out the people of Arizona for their political affiliation.
A user shared over X (formerly Twitter), "And that in a nutshell-is how the left thinks of everybody who might disagree with them."
"I can’t stand the smugness and the absolute certainty that they are better than anyone else," another slammed.
An individual reasoned, "I hear all the time about the economic contribution from the blue states. The people in the Red states are the one who grow your food, produce your energy and fight your wars. Society can survive without tech, but I promise you cannot without food."
A person shared, "Can you imagine being this uniformed, unattractive and elitist?"
"Not only that, they despise the working class within all the blue states. Anyone who’s not rich and/or woke," another chimed in.
One felt, "The most provincial people I've ever met have been those that fancied themselves the most cosmopolitan."
"Fran Leibowitz has for many years asserted that NYC is the center of the universe, her books are full of such drivel, So if Bill Maher invited her on his show than this must be the result he wanted(?)" another questioned the host.
