'Bad dad jokes': Internet annoyed by Al Roker's commentary during NBC's Rose Day Parade broadcast
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The beloved meteorologist Al Roker's appearance at the Rose Bowl Parade has recently sparked hate on the internet, with many viewers asserting that he was 'annoying' during the event with his jokes.
The 69-year-old acclaimed weatherman, alongside his ‘Today’ co-star Hoda Kotb, provided coverage for NBC during the annual New Year's Day procession.
However, Roker’s commentary during the parade has left certain online audiences unimpressed with his banter.

Al Roker host Rose Day Parade
On the first day of the new year, Al Roker alongside co-host Hoda Kotb rang in a hotel on the other side of the country.
Kotb and Roker hosted the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California.
On Monday morning, Kotb took to Instagram Story to share a selfie with Roker from captioning, “Lets goooooo.”

Roker also took to Instagram and posted two clips from the parade. In the first clip, he recorded himself and Kotb and said, “Happy New Year everybody. We are hanging around, we’re up here at the Pasedena 135th Rose Parade. My pal Hoda Kotb is getting wired up even though Hoda comes pre-wired.”
Roker and Kotb then suddenly started hooting, “There it is,” and the weatherman shouted, “Time to panic, 25 minutes to the showtime. Ahhhhh.”
He then went on to explain a bit about Rose Parade revealing the first parade was covered on “TV in 1954 and before that it was on radio.”
Roker then slammed ABC channel as he moved his camera to their spot adding, “Nobody wants to watch that.”
He concluded his video saying, “Anyway, it’s really excited having been here for three years. So, to be back is very, very exciting.”

In another clip, Roker reported from backstage getting ready and showed glimpses from the parade.
Apparently, his antics and jokes weren’t much loved by his fans this time.

Another trolled adding, “Al Roker injested way too many "happy pills" this morning. Incredibly obnoxious, and NBC can't get him to shut up. ABC should send him a thank you card for all the viewers he's forcing to switch over to their broadcast of the #RoseParade.”
