NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Barron Trump, the 18-year-old son of President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump, recently experienced an embarrassing moment that proved his famous last name can't always open doors — literally.

Despite his well-known family name, Barron was turned away at the door of a NoHo bar by a bouncer for being underage, as reported by the Daily Mail.

A source told the outlet that Barron Trump couldn't show identification confirming he was at least 21 at the New York City establishment, resulting in a swift refusal of entry.

Trying to get into a bar is a rite of passage for many college students, but for Barron, the experience became an embarrassing moment that made headlines. Access denied, became the latest chapter in Barron’s college life, one where his famous last name didn't grant him any special privileges.

It’s been widely reported that Barron has struggled with leading a "normal" college experience. "I don't think it's possible for him to be a normal student," his mother, Melania, said during an interview on 'Fox & Friends'.

Barron is known for being reserved and staying largely out of the spotlight during his time at New York University's Stern School of Business.

The incident, though embarrassing, is a stark reminder that, regardless of who his father is, Barron remains just another college student trying to navigate life outside the glare of the public eye.

Barron Trump's family legacy of sobriety

Barron Trump'’s father, Donald Trump, has long been a teetotaler, famously avoiding alcohol due to the impact it had on his late brother, Fred Trump Jr, Nicki Swift reported.

"I had a brother who was a great guy, but he had an alcohol problem," the president shared during an October 2024 speech at the Inaugural National Faith Summit. "It's a hard problem to cure and I've never had a glass because of him," he added.

Similarly, Barron’s eldest brother, Donald Trump Jr, has been open about his own struggles with alcohol, revealing in his book 'Triggered' that he stopped drinking because he didn’t know how to drink in moderation.
