WASHINGTON, DC: Barron Trump, the 19-year-old son of President Donald Trump and Melania Trump, has reportedly discovered a new way to stay connected with his college friends at NYU.

The update comes just days after reports revealed that the freshman is closely shadowed by Secret Service, even to class and the restroom, with agents disguising themselves in casual attire to blend in on campus.

Attending NYU's Stern School of Business, Barron's movements also involve a convoy of blacked-out SUVs, assisted by the NYPD, to prevent traffic disruptions during his commutes.

Barron Trump's mode of communication with his college pals revealed

According to sources cited by Page Six, Barron Trump has been using gaming platforms to stay in touch with friends at NYU, where he’s under constant Secret Service surveillance.

Initially communicating via Discord, the popular chat app for gamers, Barron has now expanded his digital social circle to Xbox.

“He has added it to his repertoire. It’s his communication platform of choice,” one source revealed.

Due to the heavy security detail that shadows him across campus, including in and out of classes, Barron has struggled to socialize like a typical student.

“He hardly exists on campus,” the source said, adding that the 6-foot-7 freshman uses gaming platforms to communicate because he can’t give out his phone number for security reasons.

“It’s his workaround,” the source explained. “He’s still troubleshooting.”

They further noted that sharing his personal number “creates more trouble than it’s worth. If people get the number, they would give it out, and then a million people would be calling nonstop. You’d have to change the number constantly, and it’d become a merry-go-round.”

Importantly, the source emphasized that Barron isn’t chatting with random users online.

Instead, he only shares his gamer tag with people he knows personally. “It’s gamer bro culture — they ask each other for their gamer tags. He knows the people,” the source continued.

Xbox allows users to communicate through both text and voice chat, making it an ideal tool for Barron to stay connected while keeping his privacy intact.

President Donald Trump has often praised his youngest son Barron’s tech-savviness. In a March interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, Trump recounted a moment that showcased Barron's skills. “I turn off his laptop, I said, ‘Oh good,’ and I go back five minutes later, he’s got his laptop. I said, ‘How’d you do that?'”

According to Trump, Barron coolly responded, “None of your business, dad.”

Laughing, Trump added, “He’s got an unbelievable aptitude in technology. Barron is a very smart guy.”

The president also took the moment to express pride in all five of his children-- Eric, Don Jr, Ivanka, and Tiffany--highlighting their work ethic and patriotism.

“I’m lucky. Look, you have to be a little bit lucky too,” he said. “They’re very smart, they’re good kids. They work hard, they love our country, and they’re proud of their father. And we have a very good relationship.”

In a previous interview, Melania Trump echoed similar sentiments about Barron’s adjustment to college life, as per DailyMail. “He loves his classes and professors. He's doing well, he's thriving, and he's enjoying to be in New York City again,” she said.

Still, she admitted that a typical college experience might be out of reach for him. “I don’t think it’s possible for him to be a normal student,” Melania shared.
