The insider added, "Ben and Jen never felt settled in the 38,000-square-foot, 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom mansion in Beverly Hills."

The source added, "They rarely have all the kids there at once, so it felt huge for the two of them."

According to the source, Affleck and Lopez are "still living separately" and their relationship is in purgatory while they try to sell their house.

"Nothing has been decided yet as far as the divorce, but selling the house is the first step," the person concluded.

Affleck shares three children—Violet, 18, Finn, 15, and Samuel, 12—with his former wife Jennifer Garner, while Lopez shares twins Max and Emme, 16, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.

"Ben continues to live at the Brentwood rental. He's been there for about two months now. He seems okay," a source previously revealed to People.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez each had their own reasons for wanting to leave their marital home: he found it too far from his children, while she felt it was too large.

The 'Air' actor "never liked the house. It's too far away from his kids," a source previously revealed to People. Lopez, meanwhile, maintains the 12-bedroom home is just "way too big for her."

The property features an outdoor sports complex that includes a basketball court, pickleball court, gym, boxing ring, bar, and a zero-edge pool heated to 150 degrees. It also has garages that can accommodate 15 vehicles and additional parking space for 80 cars, per Daily Mail.

In what was supposed to be a magical conclusion to their decade-long love story, the singer and the actor spent two years searching for their dream home before buying the mansion with cash.

However, the couple has been living separately for the past three months after their wedding on August 21, 2022, at Ben's estate in Georgia.

An insider disclosed to OK! Magazine that upon returning from her solo trip to Europe, "Jen was horrified to discover that Ben had packed everything up while she was away."

The source further added that the removal of the belongings appeared to be "very cold, like a military operation."

The source continued, "As far as she's concerned, it was a real slap in the face," adding that Lopez doesn't want to "waste her time" listing all of their possessions.

"She is her brand, she lives and breathes it while Ben can leave his work at the door if he chooses to," the source explained.
