Ben Affleck didn't like social media romance but ‘learned to compromise’ for Jennifer Lopez, reveals docu
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have had a very different kind of relationship.
The two were romantically involved in the early 2000s but could not end up together. However, two decades later, not only did they come together but also said “I do” to each other in 2022.
Ben Affleck reveals why he ‘compromised’ to go on social media
Now, Affleck in Lopez’s new Amazon Prime documentary ‘The Greatest Love Story Never Told’ has disclosed that he did not initially want his personal life showcased on social media, PEOPLE reported.
He shared, “Getting back together, I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a relationship on social media.’”
But the actor noted, “Then I sort of realized it’s not a fair thing to ask. It’s sort of like, you’re gonna marry a boat captain and you go, ‘Well, I don’t like the water.’”
“We’re just two people with different kinds of approaches trying to learn to compromise,” Affleck added.
Jennifer Lopez says Ben Affleck’s ‘gonna support me in every way’
His 54-year-old singer wife also mentioned in the documentary, releasing on Tuesday, February 27, that the ‘Deep Water’ star’s not “very comfortable with me doing all of this.”
Lopez further explained, “But he loves me, he knows I’m an artist, and he’s gonna support me in every way he can because he knows you can’t stop me from making the music I made…”
“He doesn’t want to stop me. But that doesn’t mean he’s comfortable being the muse,” the actress asserted.
Jennifer Lopez calls Ben Affleck her inspiration
Meanwhile, during the February 13 premiere of ‘The Greatest Love Story Never Told’ in Los Angeles, Lopez thanked Affleck for being her inspiration.
‘The Wedding Planner’ actress reportedly said, “And then there is the person who inspired this for me, who has inspired me my whole life. He just, he inspired an album 20 years ago and I know he hates that I'm doing this right now.”
She continued, “He's just like, 'Please shut up.’ No! And I say no. I say, I love you and thank you for believing in me and helping me believe in myself.
“And helping me to grow every single day. Thank you for the family that we've created and our children and everything that you do for me,” JLo said.
She added, “You will never know what it is to be able to share this lifetime and have you be my love. Thank you.”
