LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ben Foster and Laura Prepon have called it quits after six years of marriage. The couple, who had been longtime friends before their romance blossomed in July 2016, got engaged just a few months later in October.

By the summer of 2017, they welcomed their first child, daughter Ella. The pair tied the knot in June 2018, and two years later, in 2020, they expanded their family with a second child. Now, after several years together, their relationship has come to an end.

According to reports from People, 44-year-old Ben Foster has filed for divorce from Laura Prepon, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the primary reason for the split.

He also stated that the couple was no longer able to "live together successfully as husband and wife." Foster has listed their date of separation as September 9, 2023.

In his filing, the 'X-Men: The Last Stand' actor requested that the court enforce their 2018 prenuptial agreement, ensuring an equitable division of their marital assets and debts.

Additionally, he asked the court to incorporate their "marital dissolution agreement and agreed parenting plan" into the final divorce decree. Foster also requested for each party to pay their own attorney's fees and for any other court costs to be divided equally.

In April 2019, the actress opened up about balancing her career and parenting during a segment on 'The MOMS. The Orange Is the New Black' star revealed how quickly she had to return to work after giving birth, but praised both herself and Foster for their commitment to sharing parenting duties.

She explained, "Ben and I are really great about if I’m at work, he’s [at home], and if he’s at work, I’m [at home]." She added, "[But] I do feel guilty, and I just know that [Ella would] be proud if she knew. I’ve talked to a bunch of women [asking], ‘How do you do this?’ And they’re just like, ‘There’s really no solution. You just do it.’”
