WASHINGTON, DC: House Speaker Mike Johnson described President Donald Trump's State of the Union (SOTU) address on Tuesday, February 24, as the 'best' SOTU speech.

Johnson said it was so effective because 'all the answers and achievements were highlighted,' allowing the audience and attendees to grasp the message and feel its impact. He said having a front row seat made the speech more enjoyable.

Watching from his seat behind the president, Johnson praised the accomplishments Trump detailed throughout the lengthy speech. He emphasized the achievements and changes Trump brought during his second presidential term.

During an interaction with Fox News following President Trump’s address in Washington, Speaker Mike Johnson praised the speech for its clarity and accomplishments.

Reflecting on the event, he said, "I think it was the best State of the Union speech that I've seen. I did have a front row seat for it, so I enjoyed it very much, and I think the president did as well. He could have gone much longer because he enjoyed that venue, and he enjoyed delivering that great news."

Johnson emphasized that the results highlighted in the speech were already being felt by Americans. He stated, "The American people, these are Real Results, and people are beginning to feel all of this. It's the result of good policy."

Johnson said, "The president reversed the madness that he inherited, as he said at the beginning of the speech, he inherited from the Biden-Harris Administration, an absolute mess."

He talked about the progress made during Trump’s time in office. Many areas of government were not doing well before, but a lot has been fixed quickly. Johnson said there is still work to do, and the president is giving hope to the American people while showing how important the midterm elections are.

Johnson also highlighted the importance of giving the president enough time to complete his agenda. He said, "The president needs four years to finish this job, not just two, and if we were to lose the House Majority in the midterms. That's exactly what would happen."

Trump focuses on economy and election claims

Trump did not introduce many new policy ideas. Instead, he highlighted a positive picture of the economy, while at times giving a misleading view. He also criticized Democrats for focusing on the cost of living.

He continued to support laws based on his repeated and widely disproved claims of election fraud. Trump criticized the Supreme Court’s recent decision against his tariff policy and promised to create a stronger replacement.
