LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The BeyHive, Beyonce's fiercely loyal fanbase, has rallied behind the pop superstar amidst allegation of copying by famed Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama.

Sorayama alleges that the futuristic outfits from Queen Bey's Renaissance Tour are strikingly similar to his original creations.

The fans, however, are not having it, dismissing the artist's claims as a "reach."

Who is Hajime Sorayama?

Hajime Sorayama, a celebrated illustrator from Japan, is recognized for his design contributions to the original Sony AIBO and his meticulously detailed, sensual depictions of female robots.

He refers to his intricate style as "superrealism", a technique that pushes the boundaries of how closely one can replicate their subject.

Sorayama’s work spans across fine art, illustration, and industrial design. He ventured into the realm of erotic gynoid robot art in 1983.

His pin-up creations graced the pages of Penthouse magazine for several years, and his art was even featured in a television special on Playboy TV.

His distinctive style has left its mark on other works, including the 2015 film 'Ex Machina', per METAL. Sorayama reportedly embarked on his journey as a freelance illustrator in 1972 and drew his first robot in 1978.

The 76-year-old artist wrote in his post tagging Beyonce, "Yo @beyonce 🤘 You should have asked me “officially” so that I could make much better work for you as like my man @theweeknd ✊".

In the past, he had teamed up with The Weeknd to create a fresh cover for the 10th-anniversary reissue of the 2011 mixtape, 'Echoes Of Silence'.

The revamped cover showcased a silver android figure, captured in profile with its neck tilted back, exuding a completely robotic aura.

This was a departure from some of his other designs shared on Monday, which incorporated human female faces, per Daily Mail.

'BeyHive' comes to Beyonce's defense

The BeyHive has rallied in defense of Beyonce in response to accusations from Sorayama, who claims that the pop star's space-age costumes from her Renaissance Tour are a rip-off of his designs.

"Like you didn’t take direct inspiration from Metropolis?" said one user.

Another fan wrote, "Quick unfollow, he stole the idea and then tried to drag mother? The NERVE."

"You’re the Director of (1927)Metropolis Film?…" commented another.

"Metropolis, Mugler, Gaultier, and more have all done this. You don’t own the Android aesthetic," stated another.

"Just delete this already lol. embarrassing," claimed another fan.

"I’m a fan of your work, but this is a reach. These visuals have been out since May, when the tour started; however, now you suddenly have a problem with it?" noted one user.

"1. It’s just a headpiece. 2. This look, in addition to many of her other looks spanning her career are Mugler/reference Mugler’s work… so, was he copying you as well?" he added.
