LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Beyonce, 42, dropped her much anticipated genre-bending album ‘Cowboy Carter’ on March 29 where she appeared to have addressed her Album of the Year snub at the 2024 Grammys in one of her songs.

In her song, ‘SWEET ★ HONEY ★ BUCKIIN’, Beyonce appeared to have sung about the Grammy snub as she admitted boldly that she was not “stung” by the loss.

On Friday, Queen Bey dropped her country-inspired album, where in one song, she hinted at the repercussions of losing the AOTY award. In another song from the album, the 42-year-old songstress recreated Dolly Parton's sensational hit 'Jolene'.

In her song, the ‘Crazy in Love’ singer sings, "A-O-T-Y, I ain’t win (Let’s go) / I ain’t stung by them / Take that s**t on the chin / Come back and f**k up the pen,” per OK! Magazine.

The ‘Halo’ singer has finally addressed the issue of four AOTY snubs in the Grammy Awards. She received the first AOTY nomination in 2010 for her ‘I Am... Sasha Fierce’, for ‘Beyonce’ in 2015, for ‘Lemonade’ in 2017, and for ‘Renaissance’ in 2023.

She has, however, lost all four nominations to other stars over the years - to Taylor Swift's ‘Fearless’ (2010), Beck's ‘Morning Phase’ (2015), Adele's ‘25’ (2017) and Harry Styles' ‘Harry's House’ (2023).

The pop diva’s husband, music mogul Jay-Z has even addressed the Grammy snub while accepting the Dr Dre Global Impact Award in the 2024 Grammys.

He slammed the Recording Academy for never awarding the ‘CUFF It’ singer with the AOTY award despite her 32 wins in other categories.

Jay-Z said about his wife, "I don't want to embarrass this young lady but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won Album of the Year.”

"So even by your own metrics that doesn't work. Think about that. Most Grammys, never won Album of the Year, that doesn't work,” continued the 54-year-old star, per Complex.

Internet not happy with Beyonce singing about AOTY snub

Netizens were not happy with Beyonce singing about her apparent Album of the Year' snub as they said she has a total of 32 Grammy Awards.

One of the social media users quizzed, "How is she the most awarded yet still feels cheated?"

Someone else said, "She's so pained for not having aoty, woman, you can't have everything.🤣."

However, a fan tried to reason, "The comments misinterpreting the lyrics. she isnt desperate or mad. she's literally saying "She didnt win and she isn't upset over it, she's gonna keep her head up and keep writing great music". how are yall getting desperate from that??"

Meanwhile, another netizen chimed in, "The way her and her weird fans made her aoty loss her entire personality trait at this point , girl move on."

Someone else added, "Now if she wins, people will say she won only because she criticized the grammys about it."

"Well I love the album but that’s a little bitter and unnecessary," commented a fan.

Someone else questioned, "Isnt 32 enough for you?"

"Oh boohoo she won all grammys but AOTY stop whining you are the nost awarded singer some people dont even have one grammy from any category," commented another social media user.

Another netizen remarked, "Girly you have like 30 grammys, you ain’t a victim and you can’t always be the winner…"
