Beyonce launches her new SirDavis whisky, explains reason behind its unique name
HOUSTON, TEXAS: Beyonce has announced her latest venture in the liquor industry with the launch of SirDavis Whisky on Tuesday, August 20.

Beyonce's SirDavis whisky honors her great-grandfather
The name "SirDavis" is a nod to Beyonce's great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, a farmer and moonshiner from the South.
“I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when drinking quality whisky and wanted to invite more people to experience that feeling,” the singer said.
Hogue "stashed whisky bottles in the empty knots of cedar trees" during Prohibition, leaving them for his friends and family to find, according to her statement.
“When I discovered that my great-grandfather had been a moonshine man, it felt like my love for whisky was fated. SirDavis is a way for me to pay homage to him, uniting us through a new shared legacy,” the 'Freedom' singer added.

Beyonce's SirDavis whisky crafts new tradition with Moet Hennessy
Beyonce's collaboration with Moet Hennessy, a company she has mentioned in her lyrics over the years, has resulted in a whisky that blends tradition with innovation.
“In partnering with Moet Hennessy, we have crafted a delicious American whisky that respects tradition but also empowers people to experience something new and unique in the category," she noted.
"You can taste it better than I could ever tell you — welcome, SirDavis," the 32-time Grammy Award winner added.
SirDavis Whisky's nationwide availability
SirDavis whisky is now available for preorder on SirDavis.com at $89, with nationwide retail availability set to begin in September 2024.
Before its official release, SirDavis Whisky has already started making waves in the liquor industry.
It was anonymously entered into various spirit competitions, where it earned the title of Best In Class for American Whiskey at the 2023 SIP Awards, per People.
The SirDavis bottle is crafted with ribbed glass that allows light to dance off the liquor, featuring a bronze-colored horse medallion emblem that symbolizes strength and spirit of Texas.
