WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign criticized former President Donald Trump’s choice of Senator JD Vance (R-Ohio) as his running mate.

The campaign argues that Vance will enable Trump's extreme agenda, contrasting sharply with former Vice President Mike Pence's actions on January 6.

Joe Biden's campaign criticizes Sen JD Vance's policy stances

The Biden campaign asserts that JD Vance's conservative stances, including his denial of the 2020 election results and opposition to abortion rights, will harm American families.

Donald Trump picked JD Vance as his running mate because Vance will do what Mike Pence wouldn’t on January 6: bend over backwards to enable Trump and his extreme MAGA agenda, even if it means breaking the law and no matter the harm to the American people,” Biden campaign Chair Jen O’Malley Dillon said in a statement.

Dillon argued that Vance will “make it his mission” to carry out Project 2025, which is the Heritage Foundation’s policy vision for another Trump term.

She noted Vance’s conservative stance on abortion rights and repeated denial of the 2020 election results.

“As Trump’s running mate, Vance will make it his mission to enact Trump’s Project 2025 agenda at the expense of American families," the statement said further.

"This is someone who supports banning abortion nationwide while criticizing exceptions for rape and incest survivors; railed against the Affordable Care Act, including its protections for millions with preexisting conditions; and has admitted he wouldn’t have certified the free and fair election in 2020,” Dillon added.

Republicans support Sen JD Vance as Donald Trump's running mate

Republicans quickly rallied around JD Vance after Donald Trump announced his pick Monday afternoon, June 15, on Truth Social.

Donald Trump Jr expressed his approval of the choice, praising Vance’s background and ability to unify the country.

“I think it’s an incredible pick. I think he’s an incredible guy with an amazing story, both in business and in life, and I think it’s going to be an incredible person to help unify this country,” Donald Trump Jr told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on the convention floor according to The Hill.

“I’ve seen him on TV, I’ve seen him prosecute the case against the Democrats. I think no one is more articulate than that, and I think his story, his background, really helps us a lot in the places you are going to need from the Electoral College standpoint,” Trump Jr added.

Internet reacts to Biden camp's criticism towards Donald Trump for picking Sen JD Vance as VP

The choice of JD Vance as Donald Trump's running mate sparked a range of reactions online. Supporters praised the selection, while critics expressed concern over Vance's alignment with Trump’s policies.

“That means JD Vance is the perfect VP pick,” wrote one user on X (formerly Twitter). “Vance has no conscience. He’ll do whatever Trump says without hesitation or question. You should be shaking with fear,” warned another.

“Vance definitely has all of the right enemies! Even if you know nothing about him, just look at all of the Democrats and their RINO stooges wetting their diapers over this pick, LOL,” commented one more user.

“This sounds like violent Democrat rhetoric. I thought Dementia Joe said he was going to turn the heat down on hyperbole since the left’s hate speech led to Trump’s assassination attempt,” another user posted.

“Well that was a long period of unity and no political attacks! One day!! What a joke this administration is,” added another comment.
