ATLANTA, GEORGIA: President Joe Biden is being reprimanded online by his critics after he reportedly stated that no American soldier died during his presidency.

The 46th commander-in-chief had the first presidential debate with Donald Trump on Thursday, June 27, when he made the false claim, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Joe Biden claims America was not safe under Donald Trump

Biden throwing shade at his challenger in the 2024 election said, “When he was president, they were still killing people in Afghanistan. And he didn’t do anything about that.”

“When he was president, we were still finding ourselves in a position where you had a notion that we were this safe country,” he mentioned, before asserting, “The truth is, I’m the only president this century that doesn’t have any this – this decade, that doesn’t have any troops dying anywhere in the world, like he did.”

Joe Biden remembered deceased soldiers

However, Biden reportedly forgot the death of 13 US soldiers in Kabul in 2021 when Hamid Karzai International Airport's Abbey Gate was attacked by ISIS-K.

He even paid tribute to the deceased in 2022 via a statement, “Today, I am praying for the families of those 13 fallen warriors, who lost a piece of their soul one year ago.”

“Our nation can never repay such incredible sacrifice, but we will never fail to honor our sacred obligation to the families and survivors they left behind,” the 81-year-old politician added.

Biden also expressed his gratitude towards the soldiers at the time as he stated, “I am grateful to all the members of our Armed Forces, veterans, and their families, as well as the diplomats, intelligence professionals, counterterrorism experts, and development specialists who served in Afghanistan and who sacrificed so much to make our nation stronger and safer.”

Netizens say Americans are ‘in danger’ under Joe Biden

Meanwhile, the President’s debate remark has received negative comments from people online.

A reader below the Daily Mail article wrote, “He seems to also have forgotten the three soldiers killed in Jordan in an attack by Iranian-backed Syrian militants,” referring to the deaths of Sgt William Jerome Rivers, 46, Specialist Kennedy Ladon Sanders, 24, and Specialist Breonna Alexsondria Moffett, 23, in January 2024.

Another reader commented, “Really? You don't hear the drone controller screaming into the mic, begging you for permission to drone the terrorists that would cause their deaths? I would for the rest of my life!”

“I'm surprised that Joe knows what decade he is in to be honest. From the moment he shuffled out, it was embarrassing for the American people and in fact, for the world. There will be celebrations and plans made in North Korea, China, Iran, and Russia tonight,” the third one noted.

The fourth one posted, “We also had 3 soldiers killed in Jordan under Joe's watch. What a slap in the face to our gold star families.”

The fifth one added, “We are in immediate danger, Biden needs to go ASAP!”

An X user claimed, “He didn’t forget.  He NEVER cared. He doesn’t care.”
