PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA: President Joe Biden delivered a slurred speech on Monday, September 2, during the Pittsburgh Labor Day event, which has led to concern about the president's cognitive health.

Biden and Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris made their first post-convention joint appearance on the presidential campaign trail, celebrating Labor Day with a tribute to union workers at the union hall of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) in Pittsburgh, per The Guardian.

Joe Biden delivered a slurred speech during the event, saying, "I’ve celebrated many Labor Days in Pittsburgh. And it’s always good to be back with so many great friends."

The crowd started chanting "Thank you, Joe" as the President began his speech. Biden talked about Harris in his speech and promised to support her "from the sidelines." He also praised her saying she had the strength of a "ramrod" and the morals of a "saint."

Biden, who has always described himself as the most pro-union President, spent part of the speech talking about his contributions to labor.

He said, "Wall Street didn’t build America; unions built America and unions built the middle class." He also reminded the crowd that he was the first president to walk a picket line.

Biden also praised building and investments during his administration, including Pennsylvania, which got $17 billion in infrastructure investments, per NBC News.

Concerns regarding Joe Biden's health condition

President Joe Biden stepped down from the Presidential race in July 2024 after a dismal debate performance against Trump in June and increased pressure from several Democrats.

Top Democratic Party officials, megadonors, editorial writers, and around 37 congressional lawmakers urged Biden to 'pass the torch' to a new generation of leadership for fear that he cannot defeat Trump, per Fox News.

In July, Joe Biden's physician Dr Kevin O’Connor released a letter with the permission of both Biden and Dr Kevin Cannard, a neurologist who has conducted research into Parkinson’s, and confirmed that Cannard had been the neurologist who evaluated the president at each of his three physicals since he took office, per AP.

Cannard also had one visit with Biden’s physician in January 2024 in the White House Residence clinic, weeks before the president’s physical in February. O’Connor added that the findings of that physical didn’t detect signs of any neurological disorder.

Many people on the internet raised concerns as President Joe Biden delivered a slurred speech during the Pittsburgh Labor Day event, accompanied by Kamala Harris.

A user wrote on X, "Kamala Harris and the Democrats hid Biden’s mental decline from the American voter. Never forget," while one added, "And they told us he was fine for so long."



 



 

A person also stated, "Is that a green screen behind him? His shoulders and arms look weird to me. Anyone else?" whereas one mentioned, "One more year and he’ll be non-verbal. We’re on steep decline."



 



 

A user also wrote, "They clap like seals, not understanding most of what he’s saying," while one commented, "They knew long before the debate that he was not “fine”. By comparison, Kamala is coherent. She just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense."
