Bijou Phillips being set up on dates as she's 'ready to enjoy life again' without husband Danny Masterson
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bijou Phillips is "ready to start enjoying life again," and her first step is to move on from estranged husband Danny Masterson.
Following Masterson's 47-year sentence of 30 years to life in prison for raping two women in September, as reported, 43-year-old Phillips filed for divorce from him.
On a New York City excursion with hotel heiress friend Nicky Hilton Rothschild, the actress was purportedly photographed clinking glasses with socialites, according to National Enquirer reports.
With full custody of their daughter Fianna, age nine, Phillips is determined to start over without her scandal-plagued and estranged husband, according to sources who spoke with the site, as reported by RadarOnline.
Bijou Phillips decides to move on
An insider claimed, "Bijou has done plenty of soul-searching and realized there's no sense in feeling sorry for herself. She's putting herself out there, having fun again — and putting Danny and his odious crimes firmly in the rearview mirror!"
The 43-year-old had previously made headlines for moving on after receiving a heavy punishment from Masterson. The Mamas and the Papas singer John Phillips and model Genevieve Waite are the parents of Phillips, who was previously thought to be looking for a wealthy spouse.
Even if Phillips were to escape his prison cell on appeal, rumors circulated that she had no intention of making amends with Masterson. After Phillips filed for divorce, allegations regarding her personal life were addressed by another source.
Bijou is over Danny 'and ready to start enjoying her life again'
"She's over him and ready to start enjoying her life again after being put through so much misery. Bijou has a lot of good people in her world who are helping her move forward and have fun."
The source added, "They're setting her up with guys and confident she'll be snapped up in no time at all."
Phillips faced criticism throughout the well-publicized trial
Despite Masterson being the one on trial, Phillips faced criticism throughout the well-publicized trial, which she attended to stand by her husband.
Masterson and Phillips were both members of the Church of Scientology, which was cited in the dramatic trial.
At the height of his popularity on the hit comedy, Masterson was accused in 2003 of sexually assaulting two other Scientologist members at his Los Angeles home. The next year, after meeting at a poker event in Las Vegas, Phillips and Masterson started dating.
When Masterson was found guilty of two counts of rape in May by the jury, Phillips was reportedly "shocked and devastated."
