TORONTO, CANADA: It seems former president Bill Clinton has officially joined the ever-growing ranks of Taylor Swift fans.

Attending the superstar’s Eras Tour stop in Toronto alongside his wife Hillary Clinton, granddaughter Charlotte, and friends, Clinton came away deeply impressed by the 34-year-old Grammy winner’s unparalleled energy and connection with her audience.

Bill Clinton on Taylor Swift’s 'impact on people' after attending her concert

“I get it now,” Bill Clinton, 78, admitted during an interview on Live with Kelly and Mark.

“I mean, I understand why she has such an impact on people and why a lot of these young girls are so captivated.”

Clinton, like many other high-profile attendees—including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau—witnessed Swift’s electrifying three-and-a-half-hour performance at Toronto’s Rogers Centre.

A video from the concert, shared during the show, even caught the former president grooving to her 2008 hit 'You Belong with Me' from a VIP suite.

“She’s not like a lot of people who do concerts,” Clinton gushed.

“She did three hours-plus straight. I mean, straight through! She just kept on singing the songs and kept on doing it, which I think is a very respectful thing to do for the audience.”

Taylor Swift’s on-stage stamina leaves the Clintons in awe

Bill Clinton marveled at Taylor Swift’s relentless dedication to her craft. Watching her perform nonstop, he said, was a testament to her respect for her fans.

But what struck him the most was the pure joy radiating from the younger crowd, including his granddaughter Charlotte, who knew every lyric by heart.

“I was fascinated watching our crowd of kids, especially my granddaughter, standing there with the wife of one of Chelsea’s friends from 20-plus years ago and her daughters, and all of them up there singing and they all knew the words to all the songs,” he shared.

When asked if his group tried to snag a coveted backstage meet-and-greet with Swift, Clinton chuckled and dismissed the idea.

“Actually, they didn’t, and I probably couldn’t have,” he laughed. “And we didn’t, but you know the venues are so big, you got to walk across a football field to get to backstage.”

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, which kicked off in March 2023, has been nothing short of a cultural phenomenon, drawing fans, celebrities, and politicians alike.

As per AOL, on May 16, the Prime Minister of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson, attended the Europe tour in Stockholm, taking to Instagram, revealing his identity as a Swiftie was “no secret."

Back then, he noted that Swift's tour was expected to have a positive impact on Sweden’s economy, estimating 120,000 of the 150,000 people to attend Swift’s three shows in Stockholm.

The Eras Tour is set to conclude in Vancouver this December, marking the end of an extraordinary chapter in Swift’s career.
