Bill Gates shares having a 'wide-ranging' discussion with Donald Trump during a three-hour-long dinner

Bill Gates told WSJ that he recently had a "long and actually quite intriguing dinner" with Donald Trump, incoming White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and a close confidante of him, Larry Cohen. To his surprise, the dinner went on "for over three hours."

"So the four of us sat there, and it was quite wide-ranging," he shared. The subject of the conversation included, among other things, global health.

"You know, global health is the area that I work in, and such amazing things have happened and can happen there," Gates explained, going into details about his efforts to combat HIV.

He admitted that they were "at an early stage," but following Trump's role in combating the Covid-19 pandemic, he "was asking him if maybe the same kind of thing could be done here. And we both got, I think, pretty excited about that."

The two also discussed eradicating polio, and the challenges faced in such efforts across the globe. Gates claimed Trump to be "fascinated" by the complexities provided by the subject and seemed eager to find out how his upcoming administration could support the effort.

Internet trolls Bill Gates for praising Donald Trump in a Wall Street Journal interview

Bill Gates being appreciative of Donald Trump did not go well with netizens, many of whom took to trolling him on social media.

One wrote, "They all bow before the king lol," and another said, "Most people that want to benefit financially from this administration are starting to walk back everything said leading up to this moment. Gross."

"What’s going on behind the scenes that is making these guys fall in line?" a person wondered.

One more wrote, "Too late changing sides," and another person expressed, "Amazing! Bill kisses the ring."

"Wow, if there is an Oscar for hypocrite of the year, I bet he will take the crown with flying colors," an individual raged.
