"I had dinner with, sort of, almost all of them, and the rest are coming," Trump described the outreach from the business community as "one of the big differences between the first term."

"In the first term everybody was fighting. In this term, everybody wants to be my friend," he remarked.

Donald Trump's comment sparks mockery on social media

As soon as Trump’s recent comment that "everybody wants to be my friend" went viral on social media, users quickly mocked the president-elect for the bizarre remark.

Another added, "Actually nobody does. Hope this helps!"

A third commented, "Isn't the government shutting down there? Pretty clear nobody wants to be his friend."

"I'd rather shove a gun down my throat lmao," said a critic.

A person said, "I rather be dead than be caught even a bit close to trump."

Another added, "Lol he's delusional."

"I hope when Trump posts in all caps that everyone wants to be his friend that he is being sarcastic and is aware they want a piece of power that he can dole out. If not, well, we are in trouble," an X user wrote.
