Chadwick Boseman kept his cancer diagnosis private
Lupita Nyong’o opened up about the shock she went through after knowing about Chadwick Boseman’s death and his silent battle with colon cancer for four years.
“It doesn't make sense. The news of his passing is a punch to my gut every morning,” she said then, reported People.
“I am aware that we are all mortal, but you come across some people in life that possess an immortal energy, that seem like they have existed before, that are exactly where they are supposed to always be - here! ... that seem ageless.... Chadwick was one of those people," the actress wrote.
On playing a character with terminal cancer in her recent horror film 'A Quiet Place: Day One’, she related, "In the end, it was actually very therapeutic because I had just experienced not too many years ago the death of Chadwick Boseman, which shook me to my core," Nyong'o said in June.
"I definitely was thinking about that a lot. What I came to realize is that it's really important to be reminded of our mortality, because then we live life just a little more intentionally," she added.
