Blake Lively may get millions and fix her image with strong lawsuit but Justin Baldoni’s career is ‘dead’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Blake Lively could not only walk away from her lawsuit with a fixed reputation but also an eight-figure sum, an expert said.
Speaking to The US Sun, attorney Camron Dowlatshahi, a partner at MSD Lawyers, shared that the 'Gossip Girl' alum could win a hefty sum as she has filed a “strong” lawsuit against her ‘It Ends With Us’ co-star and director Justin Baldoni.
In the lawsuit, the 37-year-old actress has accused Baldoni of creating a toxic workplace, including aiding and abetting harassment and launching a smear campaign against her.
Blake Lively could walk away with millions of dollars after lawsuit
Speaking of the strength of the ‘Green Lantern’ actress’ case against Baldoni, 40, the lawyer Dowlatshahi said, "It's absolutely reputation-related. She has, between her and her husband, all the money in the world.”
"I don't think this is a money issue. I think this was her needing to change the narrative, and already it has,” the lawyer remarked. He added, "Already it's had positive effects for her reputation, and I expect that it will continue for her.”
"You know, 99 percent of cases settle in advance of trial,” continued the attorney, before adding, “These type of cases, though, I will say are the outliers.”
Referencing the infamous Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard case, the attorney said, "So with Johnny Depp versus Amber Heard, because there's so many emotions, and there's money on both sides ... they're willing to really litigate it to the fullest. So I wouldn't be shocked if that happened here.”
Dowlatshahi continued, "In terms of settlement, I mean, obviously you're looking in the seven figures into the eight figures potentially."
Lively substantiated her lawsuit with a flurry of text messages between the ‘Five Feet Apart’ actor and his PR team, where they allegedly discussed how to “bury” the actress.
Dowlatshahi, however, added, "This is just the start. We haven't even gone through the discovery process. I'm sure there's more text messages to be had."
Attorney says Justin Baldoni’s career is ‘dead’
Dowlatshahi further praised Blake Lively’s legal team, saying that the way they obtained the alleged texts is “absolutely skilled lawyering.”
He continued, "Blake Lively's attorneys came up with a very targeted strategy of subpoenaing records through a kind of not very commonly used statute, is likely how they went about it."
Dowlatshahi added that all the recent developments are not looking good for Baldoni’s career, as he has already been dropped by his talent agency, WME, which also represents Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.
"It's already having pretty serious consequences on his career. Having WME drop you is obviously a huge issue,” shared the lawyer.
He continued, "They did so because obviously Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are huge clients and they have to take care of their bigger clients, but the allegations are very serious and the evidence is strong.”
However, according to him, the bottom line is that Baldoni’s career is facing a difficult future regarding his career, and he needs to “come up with a strong, targeted campaign and with legal defenses to back it up, to essentially revive his career because it's looking like it's dead."
