NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Bob Bryar, former My Chemical Romance drummer, was found dead inside his Tennessee home on Tuesday, November 26, at age 44.

Bryar, the popular rock band’s longest-tenured drummer, was last seen on November 4, according to TMZ, citing sources. Notably, authorities do not suspect any foul play in Bryar’s death.

Bob Bryar's music career

Bob Bryar was a sound technician for The Used who joined My Chemical Romance while the two bands were on tour in 2004. He replaced original drummer Matt Pelissier.

He became the New Jersey rock band’s permanent drummer after the release of their sophomore album 'Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge', according to the New York Post.

Bryar was an important part of the band’s success, with the release of the platinum, concept album 'The Black Parade' in 2006. The album was certified quadruple platinum in the US and finished the year No.1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums 2006, and No. 2 on the Billboard 200, per the outlet.

Interestingly, during the filming of the music video for 'Famous Last Words', Bryar and lead vocalist Gerard Way suffered injuries. Bryar sustained third-degree burns forcing the band to cancel an appearance at the San Diego Street Scene Festival, as per Billboard.

Bryar parted ways with My Chemical Romance in March 2010, six years after he joined them. The band said, "This was a painful decision for all of us to make and was not taken lightly. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors and expect you all to do the same."

After exiting the music scene in 2014, Bryar pursued real estate and animal rescue advocacy.
