Boxing champion Mylik Birdsong murdered in Los Angeles drive by weeks before his first fight
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Welterweight Boxing champion Mylik Birdsong was shot dead at the age of 31.
The professional fighter was fatally attacked at around 4.50 pm on Sunday, September 29, according to Los Angeles Police Department.

What did LAPD say about JD the Mylik Birdsong's attack
As per report, Mylik Birdsong was outside a vehicle with his girlfriend when another vehicle drove by and started shooting at him.
"A dark-colored SUV drove by westbound on 87th and shot at the victim. The victim then ran towards his residence [when] two suspects from the vehicle started chasing him while shooting at him," an LAPD spokesperson told KTLA news.
First respondents tried to revive Birdsong at the scene, but he was later pronounced dead at the nearby hospital.
According to police, the boxer suffered from seven gunshots to his torso during the attack.
Birdsong was the reigning World Boxing Foundation International Welterweight champion and was set to fight Gor Yeritsan on October 26 at a Hollywood Fight Nights event which is set to air live on UFC Fight pass.
