LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's ongoing legal battles are turning intense as their daughter, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has legally requested to drop the "Pitt" from her surname, according to documents obtained by TMZ on May 30. 

The filing comes when Shiloh is starting a new chapter of her life. According to the documents, her name change request was submitted on May 27, her 18th birthday and the exact day she became a legal adult.  It's important to note that this move comes after his sister Vivienne removed her last name. Brad and Angelina co-parent their children Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Zahara, 19, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 15.

Although Shiloh has gone by Shiloh Jolie on Instagram, this is the first time she has formally changed her last name.

'The Outsiders' is a new Broadway musical that Vivienne, 15, and Angelina produced. This week it was reported that Vivienne's name was listed as Vivienne Jolie in the playbill.

Last year, their eldest adopted daughter, Zahara, introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie upon joining a sorority at Spelman College in Atlanta. 

Shiloh's request was made on Memorial Day, which caused a small hold-up in the approval procedure. Brad and Angelina are parents to six children - Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and biological daughter Shiloh and the twins, Knox and Vivienne, 15. Brad and Angelina started dating after his widely publicized divorce from Jennifer Aniston in 2005.

Internet weighs in on Shiloh removing last name 

Social media users reacted to the news with a Facebook user saying, "That is so sad! Angelina has been weaponizing these children against him since they split up!" 

A user said, "She can do what she wants. I feel Angelina has definitely persuaded all the children to hate their father. She will miss out on a lot with her dad no longer in her life."

Another user said, "I think it's all really sad. Alienating a parent is never good for kids. Ever." 

Another user said, "She's old enough to decide what's best for her. Even though they are in the public eye, only they know their true reasons."

A user said, "If Brad was abusive, she can do whatever she needs to do to help heal her trauma. It's rather sad."
