LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Though there are currently no confirmed travel dates, Britney Spears' mother Lynne Spears is still hoping for a Christmas reunion with her daughter in Louisiana.

There are still talks about Britney going home to Louisiana for the holidays, according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation.

Christmas miracle reportedly in the making

Although official plans for the trip have not yet been confirmed, TMZ reported that Britney's mates and Lynne are hopeful that the reunion can still happen. Lynne herself is still holding out hoping for a last-minute miracle for Christmas.

Despite having recently hosted her mother in Los Angeles for her 42nd birthday, where they seemed to get along well, it is still unclear why Britney has not committed to going to Louisiana for the holidays.

Now that the initiative is in Britney's hands, Lynne is holding out hope for a successful result.

There is a great desire to see Britney and Lynne continue to work on their relationship, even in the face of uncertainty, and there are even hopes for a happy holiday reunion.

According to the source, everybody aware of the situation, wants the mother-daughter duo to spend the holidays together since their relationship is already on the mend and they have started on the path of reconciliation.

During her second trip to LA in two weeks to see Britney, Lynne revealed that "all things are always possible," when earlier questioned if she and Britney might carry on their reconciliation back in their home state for the holidays.

She also revealed to TMZ at the time that her family's connections are generally "going well" and that she is a big fan of Cade Hudson, Britney's longtime manager, with whom the singer had been spending a lot of time.

Internet reacts to claims of Britney Spears and Lynne's holiday reunion

Following the news of the singer and her mother reuniting for Christmas in Louisiana, social media users not only expressed their opinions but also enquired whether Britney's father Jamie Spears would be present.

One such user wrote on Facebook, "Hope her dad isn’t going too, he will only show himself up and get legless," referring to Jamie Spears' health following his leg amputation, per TMZ.

A second one added, "Nah! Not happening with Brit Brit!"

"Her mother is looking for a large Cash Christmas gift she's having it very hard financially," alleged another user.

"Britney shouldn't go back she should stay with her dogs for Xmas and new years," suggested another one.

 One user echoed a similar sentiment and wrote, "I really hope this family’s intentions are good and it’s not just a money grab!"

However, another one pointed out Lynne to be a great mother and wrote, "Lynne Spears is a great mom, Britney is lucky to have her"
