Britney took to social media to "thank" and compliment Janet Jackson—who popularly had a wardrobe malfunction while performing with Timberlake at the 2004 Super Bowl—amid her dispute with her ex.

The 'Baby One More Time' singer gave Janet a heartfelt shoutout on Instagram on Sunday, February 25. Reposting a now-deleted photo of the cover art for her 1993 album 'Janet', Britney expressed gratitude to the artist for "keeping her dreams and heart alive," per The Mirror.

Along with the photo of Janet's 1993 Janet album cover, Britney, 42, wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post, "Thank you to this beautiful lady for keeping my dreams and heart alive. She’s always been the deepest and brightest woman at the same time."

"She went through so much but I feel she is someone I will look up to for the rest of my life. Thank you for your music and your divine way of untangling intelligence to a far more clear view than anyone could ever imagine," the 'Toxic' singer continued.

The goodwill toward Janet followed a sulking exchange between Britney and her ex-boyfriend Justin following the pop princess's apology for disparaging their relationship in her memoir, 'The Woman in Me,' published in October 2023.

Before the post was deleted, many fans conjectured that Britney was siding with one side in the debate surrounding Janet and Justin's 2004 Super Bowl halftime performance.

Given that Justin is infamous for exposing Michael Jackson's sister on live television, the Janet upload might have something to do with their ongoing rivalry.
