Britney Spears addresses conspiracy theories claiming she is a clone: 'I'm owned by a little girl'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: With a daring declaration, Britney Spears has officially put an end to "clone" speculations and addressed persistent conspiracy theories that she has been replaced by a replica.
The singer responded to a notion on Instagram on Thursday, January 16, that she is a clone of the pop star rather than Spears herself.
Britney Spears reveals she's 'owned by a little girl who lives within' her
Taking to her now-deleted Instagram post, the pop star shared a picture of female silhouettes in frames on a wall with a caption that began: "A lot of people say I am a clone, I wish I was that interesting but no I'm owned by a little girl who lives within me. She is called Mini Me!"
Adding even more intrigue to the mix, the 'Toxic' hitmaker revealed that her alter ego has a "real name but I don't share her because I'm selfish with people I love."
Spears concluded her post by saying, "Until then may we all look up and wonder about the real kingdom of heaven 💕 !!!" adding that she is "serious" and promised her fans they will meet her someday.
This comment appeared to be a direct reaction to rumors that have been floating around about who Spears really is.

Spears words might be a response to claims made by reality actress Kristin Cavallari on her 'Let's Be Honest' podcast in November 2024 that the pop singer and Kanye West might be clones.
Cavallari said at the time, "I wholeheartedly believe Kanye West and Britney Spears have been cloned."
Following these claims, Cavallari alleged that Spears personally contacted her and even proposed that they meet in Los Angeles, per Newsweek.
Cavallari called the conversation a "roller coaster" and said Spears did not reply when she tried to set up a meeting, which prompted Cavallari to joke, "Now I do think you're a f***ing clone."
"I don't think it's you. I don't want to hang out," Cavallari declared, claiming that the 2000s icon had "proved" her point.
Britney Spears previously claimed she is a '5-year-old attending kindergarten'
This is not the first time Britney Spears has made an odd social media post. According to her recent statements, she is a "5-year-old attending kindergarten" and she intends to "adopt a baby girl."
The author of 'Woman in Me' celebrated her 43rd birthday by posting three videos on her Instagram account. In one video, the singer said she should be celebrating a different birthday after two of her three videos mostly centered on concerns about paparazzi taking unflattering photos of her.
Spears stated in the video clip "Anyways, it's my birthday. I'm not turning 42, I'm turning 5 this year. I'm turning 5 years old, and I have to go to kindergarten tomorrow," although it was her 43rd birthday, per Newsweek.
