LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears and her mother Lynne Spears have been working on repairing their relationship after years of estrangement.

The pop star and her mother reunited for Britney’s birthday earlier this month, but that didn't mean they would reunite for Christmas, although, all doors are open.

According to Us Weekly, Britney understands that Lynne would have loved to see her for Christmas, but "she felt like it was too soon."

A source told the magazine that Britney is open to fixing things with Lynne, but she "wants things to unfold organically."

“She wants things to unfold organically and not rush anything,” the source said. The source also revealed that Britney is in a really good place and would love to continue maintaining her relationship with her mother.

However, she wants to take her time with their reconciliation and not feel pressured as, according to the source, she does not want to "force anything.”

One more source told the magazine that Britney is really happy with where things seem to be headed with her mother. The source said that Britney was open to making time to celebrate the holidays together with her mother and brother Bryan Spears.

The source added that Britney and Lynne still have a lot to work through, but the door for communication has been opened and they have been in touch very often lately.

Britney and Lynne had a meaningful visit for the singer’s birthday on December 2. Britney shared a since-deleted post on social media, expressing her gratitude for being embraced by her family.

“Well damn y’all I feel BLESSED !!! I LOVE Y’ALL SO SO SO SO MUCH!!!” she wrote.

Lynne Spears denied getting rid of Britney Spears’ dolls and journals

Lynne also showed her love for Britney on Instagram where she slammed the online rumors that she had thrown away some of Britney’s belongings. Lynne wrote a heartfelt message to Britney, saying that she would never do such a thing and that she still has her things.
