LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears has reportedly reconnected with her younger son, 18-year-old Jayden Federline, after years of estrangement, but the reunion comes with emotional complications.

While Federline has moved past tensions with the pop icon, sources close to the family say he’s struggling to reconcile with his mother’s unpredictable and often provocative online behavior.

“Jayden loves her and does his best to accept her, but knows she’s never going to be a normal mom,” a source close to the family revealed to Globe.

“He finds a lot of her social media posts incredibly embarrassing, especially the ones where she’s dancing or talking in riddles. He’s told her straight up that it upsets him and that his friends give him a hard time about it.”

Jayden Federline, who recently turned 18 and aged out of child support arrangements that had Britney Spears paying ex-husband Kevin Federline thousands each month, has reportedly visited his mother at her $8 million Los Angeles mansion.

During those visits, insiders say Spears has gone out of her way to shower him with gifts and attention, including the keys to a high-end sports car.

Though Jayden has expressed his discomfort, those close to Spears say the Grammy winner doesn’t always respond well. “Britney doesn’t always take it well. She can feel like she’s being rejected,” the source said.

The 'Toxic' hitmaker has remained a constant subject of public fascination, especially since the end of her conservatorship in 2021 after more than a decade of legal control overseen by her father.

Jayden and his older brother Sean, 19, were primarily raised by Federline, largely shielded from the spotlight. Now, with both legally adults, their relationship with Spears has become more complex.

She is spending time with Jayden again, though a source notes, “He tries to be patient, but if she doesn’t start hearing him, it’s not hard to imagine that he’ll distance himself again, which would be very sad.”

Internet reacts after Britney Spears’ son accepts she’ll ‘never be a normal mom’

The internet has been stirred by 18-year-old Jayden Federline’s reported comment that he has come to terms with the fact that his mother, pop icon Britney Spears, will never be a “normal mom.”

The emotional admission sparked a flurry of mixed reactions online, with many social media users rallying behind Spears and calling for more empathy from her family.

One user wrote, “His life is not normal and he has a lot of privilege because of his mom. Her family and Kevin should try their best to smooth the path of her relationship with her sons. She is not a danger and clearly loves them. Mental illness requires nuance and patience. Godspeed to her and her children.”

Another commented, “The poor woman is broken. Her family should support her emotionally, as much as she supported them financially.”

“If only he knew that everyone's family isn't normal. Anyone saying otherwise has the scariest problems,” one user added.

A different user penned, “He wouldn’t have anything if it wasn’t for his mom’s career. He needs to be thankful.”

Another commenter expressed concern over the lasting emotional toll on Britney, writing, “He needs a good counselor because she went through a lot and she may never be the same. But he had privilege because of her. How do you think she feels being rejected and never having understanding?”
