Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney honor Jon Bon Jovi at 2024 MusiCares Person of The Year Benefit Gala
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rock icon Jon Bon Jovi was honored at the 2024 MusiCares Person Of The Year Benefit Gala at the Convention Center in LA. It was his contribution to the music industry and massive philanthropic work for years that earned him this recognition.
The legend has been also associated with other institutions through his nonprofit work to fight homelessness, and creating 'a safety net of critical health and welfare services to the music community. During the event, the star also performed along with other heavyweights of music.
Stars who took to the stage during the event
This includes Shania Twain, Jason Isbell, Melissa Etheridge, Brandy Clark, Damiano David, Goo Goo Dolls, Jelly Roll, Marcus King, The War and Treaty and Lainey Wilson.
But, it was Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney’s presence that won the fans over. Jon Bon Jovi wore a smooth black suit with a silver strip along the lapel down to the bottom of the blazer, which was complemented down the sides of each pant leg.
The musical stars who sat and enjoyed the evening comprise Kylie Minogue, Nile Rodgers, Linda Perry, Lenny Kravitz, Sammy Hagar, David Foster, Katharine McPhee, Darryl McDaniels, Gayle King, Rita Wilson Ted Danson, Mary Steenburger, and others.
"MusiCares is thrilled to honor Jon Bon Jovi at the 2024 Person of the Year Gala," Laura Segura, executive director of MusiCares, said in a statement earlier.
"His remarkable contributions to rock and roll have not only left an indelible mark on the music industry but also in the hearts of countless fans around the world,” she added.
Segura further said, “Furthermore, his long-standing commitment to serving food-insecure and unhoused individuals inspires us all. We're looking forward to celebrating him and the many ways he has made a difference in this world."
Bon Jovi now joins past honorees such as Dolly Parton, Joni Mitchell, and Smokey Robinson.

Bon Jovi said he was humbled to be bestowed by MusiCares
"I'm truly humbled to be this year's MusiCares honoree. MusiCares' work with music professionals is vitally important in creating much needed support and wellness programs that cultivate a healthier and more vibrant community for us all," Bon Jovi said in a statement.
"Philanthropic work has been a cornerstone of my life and has always run in tandem to my music career and achievements,” he added, as per CBS News.
“Nearly two decades ago when I formed the JBJ Soul Foundation and JBJ Soul Kitchens, I saw firsthand and continue to see today the impact of charitable community-based work. I know this for sure: helping one's community is helping one's self," he continued.
