MANCHESTER, ENGLAND: Bruce Springsteen did not mince his words while slamming President Donald Trump at the first show of his 'Land of Hopes and Dreams Tour' in Manchester, England, on Wednesday, May 14.

The singer began, “The mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock and roll, in dangerous times,” the Daily Beast reported.

Bruce Springsteen says US is now hands of ‘treasonous administration’

Bruce Springsteen told the crowd, “In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about, that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration.”

“Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experiment to rise with us, raise your voices against authoritarianism and let freedom ring!” he asserted.

The 75-year-old guitarist, who supported Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential run, before singing his 2002 track ‘My City of Ruins’, also stated, “In America, the richest men are taking satisfaction in abandoning the world’s poorest children to sickness and death.”

Bruce Springsteen claims Donald Trump admin is ‘abandoning our great allies’

“In my country, they’re taking sadistic pleasure in the pain they inflict on loyal American workers. They’re rolling back historic civil rights legislation that has led to a more just and plural society. They are abandoning our great allies and siding with dictators against those struggling for their freedom,” he stated.

But while concluding his rant, “the Boss” took an optimistic route.

He shared, “The America l’ve sung to you about for 50 years is real, and, regardless of its faults, is a great country with a great people,” before adding, “So we’ll survive this moment.”

Bruce Springsteen called 'old and irrelevant' for blasting Donald Trump administration

Bruce Springsteen faced backlash online for speaking out against President Donald Trump and his administration.

“Billionaire lectures the commoners. News at 11,” an X user posted.

“I call him old and irrelevant,” another wrote.

“Idiot. Stick to the music,” one person remarked.

“I don't get why people think celebrities' opinions are so important. We give these people money to entertain us, actors put on costumes and pretend to be other people, sports stars put on costumes to play with balls, and musicians think of their poet laureates whose every word is Gospel. Their opinion is nothing more than that of a performing bear in a Russian circus,” another shared.

“Did he sing too?” one individual asked.

Another commented, “Bruce Springsteen has nothing in common with 99% of Americans.”

One netizen added, “Bruce has no understanding of the American working class struggle anymore. He’s a liberal elite with armed security 24/7.”
