LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bunnie Xo has explained why she removed the 'Dumb Blonde' podcast episode about her split from singer Jelly Roll, which was released shortly after news of their divorce became public.

The 46-year-old explained that the decision stemmed from not wanting one of the most difficult periods of life to remain a permanent headline. Reflecting on removing the episode, she noted that while transparency with listeners remains important, having the space to heal, evolve, and move forward matters just as much.

Bunnie Xo explains why the removed podcast episode no longer reflects her emotional state

On the Friday, July 10, episode of 'Dumb Blonde', Bunnie revealed that she chose to remove the earlier podcast episode discussing her divorce from Jelly Roll. “I took it down because I realized I just don’t want one of the hardest moments of my life to become a permanent headline,” she said.

Bunnie added that while remaining transparent with listeners is important, “people deserve the space to heal, to evolve and to move forward.” According to her, the removed episode reflected exactly how she felt when she recorded it, but her emotional state has since changed.

“That episode served a purpose for me at that time, and it was real, it was honest, and it came from exactly where I was emotionally in that moment. But I’m not in that same place anymore,” she explained.

Addressing criticism that she had moved on quickly, Bunnie said she had actually been grieving the end of her marriage for much longer. “I’ve been mourning the loss of my marriage for at least a year. I had visions of the news breaking, of it happening,” she said.

The 46-year-old also described the emotional toll the separation had taken behind the scenes, saying listeners did not see the private moments where she “was on the floor screaming, crying,” and struggled to eat or drink to the point where she could have been hospitalized.

“I couldn’t even stand up because I was so devastated,” she said. Bunnie explained that she intentionally avoided becoming emotional on the podcast because she had previously been vulnerable about a breakup with the musician in 2018.

“I don’t like being that vulnerable,” she admitted, while adding that she still wanted women to know, “You’re gonna get through it. You’re gonna survive.”

Bunnie Xo refuses to let divorce become her entire identity

Bunnie also said she did not want the divorce to become the defining part of her identity. “If I’m being real, I don’t want the divorce to become my entire personality. I don’t want to be the poster child for divorce,” she said, adding that there is more to her life than this “painful chapter.”

She revealed that the now-deleted episode quickly became one of her most-viewed podcast episodes and earned her $100,000. However, she insisted that financial gain was not the reason behind keeping or removing it.

“But I don’t care about the money. If I cared about the money, I would’ve left it up and let it get another 100 grand,” she said.

She added that if her goal had simply been to attract more attention, she would have posted content on TikTok instead, stressing, “I don’t care about the views, I don’t care about the money.”

She concluded that removing the episode was not done to be “malicious” or because she was trying to hide what had happened, but because she did not want that moment to define her life: “If you guys will allow me to grow, I’ll keep growing out loud and healing out loud."

During the now-removed June 18 podcast episode, which followed reports that Jelly Roll had filed for divorce from Bunnie after nearly 10 years of marriage on May 18, she revealed that their relationship ended after an argument on Mother’s Day.

She also confirmed that Jelly Roll is dating again, denied rumours that she is dating Chad Kroeger, and said that despite the split, “we’re still having a baby together.”
