LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In yet another controversial take, Cameron Diaz stated that she believes it should be "normalized" for married couples to sleep in separate rooms; however, she admits that she and her husband Benji Madden don't do so.

The 51-year-old 'Charlie's Angels' alum and her Avaline wine business partner Katherine Power were featured in a segment of Molly Sims and her best friend Emese Gormley's most recent edition of their 'Lipstick on the Rim' podcast, released on Tuesday, December 19.

'Normalize separate bedrooms'

While talking about what they considered healthy lifestyles on Molly Sims' podcast, Diaz looked back to what she had previously believed to be her ideal cohabiting circumstance.

The 'Bad Teacher' actress, who wed Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden in 2015, made her own confession after one of the women declared her husband snores.

Diaz added, "We should normalize separate bedrooms," and then gave her explanation.

"To me, I would literally, I have my house, you have yours. We have the family house in the middle. I will go and sleep in my room. You go sleep in your room. I’m fine," Diaz explained.

"And we have the bedroom in the middle that we can convene in for our relations," the 'Charlie's Angels' alum concluded, as per Us Weekly.

Cameron Diaz clarifies her opinions have changed after marriage

The women on the podcast burst into conversation, even joking that Diaz shouldn't have publicly disclosed her view on marriage when one of the hosts quipped that the disclosure might be controversial.

"I’ve already said it," Diaz said, but clarified, "By the way, I don’t feel that way now because my husband is so wonderful. I said that before I got married."

Good Charlotte's lead guitarist and backup vocalist Madden married Diaz in 2015, barely 10 months after the two were introduced by Nicole Richie. The couple share a 3-year-old daughter named Raddix, whom they welcomed in January 2020.

The 'Other Woman' actress does not appear to be afraid of admitting that 44-year-old Madden changed her perspective on life.

Despite being associated with several A-listers in the early 2000s, such as Matt Dillon, Alex Rodriguez, and Justin Timberlake, Diaz exclaimed that "no one compares" to Madden.

In May 2016, Diaz told Harper's Bazaar, "[Marriage] was the biggest thing I’ve done in my 40s, and it opened me up in different ways."

"It’s pretty awesome. I didn’t think it was something I’d do, and I don’t know if I’d have done it if I hadn’t met my husband. It was a surprise," she added at the time.

In January 2023, the pair celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary, and Madden wrote a touching remembrance on Instagram.

He exclaimed that he was "happy and grateful" and that he was "in love" with his lovely spouse.

"Eight years married, side by side, and now a little one for us to guide let's do 80 more and then forever happy anniversary 1*5*," the musician added in the caption.
