'Cancel him': Internet outraged as Brian McKnight calls his estranged children 'product of sin'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brian McKnight has recently called his older biological children are “product of sin” which naturally angered social media users.

In a recent Q&A session on Instagram, the 54-year-old singer left a few caustic comments about his four oldest biological children - Brian Jr, Niko, Briana, and Clyde - which created a huge uproar.

During the Q&A session, as one of the fans defended his decision not to claim his biological children as his own saying some relatives can be “pure evil,” McKnight responded to the comment in the affirmative, per Page Six.

Referring to the comment, he said, “I wanna big up my man right here. He gets it,” before adding, “In order to live a life that you love, you have to get rid of the evil and the negativity — even if that evil and negativity is related [to you].”

When another fan commented that the veteran singer has gone “against God” by having “disowned” her children, the 17-time Grammy nominee replied with a lengthy discourse.

He said, “1. God wasn’t talking about children that are the product of sin which these are 2. I didn’t raise them their mothers did 3. Know the whole story before quoting the Bible 4. Take your inaccurate negativity off my page and try being happy.”

McKnight has maintained an estranged relationship with his four older children for years. He first took a dig at them in 2019 when he called them “entitled” in a video. 

At present, the ‘Anytime’ singer refuses to claim his four children. In 2017, he tied the knot with Leilani Malia Mendoza and welcomed a son together recently - also named Brian.

Mendoza is also a mother to her other two children from a previous relationship - Julie and Jack. At present McKnight acknowledges himself to be the father of only Julie, Jack and his infant son with Mendoza. 

Brian McKnight receives heavy criticism for his comments

Internet was left infuriated by Brian McKnight's comments about his own biological children. 

One of the angry fans said, "I don’t need a cancel movement. But I personally will never listen to another Brian McKnight song based on his own words and actions towards his first children. I’m good on him."

Someone else said, "Period. I stopped listening to him when i first learned how evil & abusive he is to his biological children. Cancel him. Boycott him. Put him under the jail."

"I need his karma to be swift. He doesn’t have anyone telling him how wrong this is," said another exasperated fan.

Another social media user said, "Brian is evil. Worse sperm donor of the decade."

"Once a year the internet gets reminded that Brian McKnight is horrible person, and somehow, every annual reminder is stronger than the last," remarked someone else. 

Tagging the singer on X, another fan asked, "Do your biological kids ever cross your mind … anytime ? @ Brian McKnight."

"Brian McKnight is such a weirdo, and his wife is a bigger weirdo for standing behind that bullshit. How do you UN claiming your kids? Ew," another netizen held no bars while expressing their anger.
