'Can't stop laughing': Internet in splits after Trump posts 'White House Senior Living' ad mocking Biden
WASHINGTON, DC: In a hilarious response to First Lady Jill Biden's recent claim that her husband's age is an "asset" in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, former President Donald Trump released a 30-second video on Instagram and Truth Social, mocking President Joe Biden's advancing years.
The trolling clip, styled as an advertisement for a retirement home, playfully depicts the White House as such, with 81-year-old President Biden as its primary resident. "At White House Senior Living, our residents feel right at home," the narrator declares against a backdrop of uplifting music.
The video includes a zoomed-in shot of the White House before transitioning to a clip of President Biden appearing dazed, looking downward with his mouth slightly open. The narrator continues, "Our vibrant facility offers delightful activities and outings, round-the-clock professional care, and exquisite homemade meals."
Images of Biden at the beach and First Lady Jill Biden helping him put on his jacket are interspersed in the commercial.
"I've been eating everything that's been put in front of me, all Italian food basically," Biden says in a clip from a recent TV interview, with Jill Biden reminding him about his love for ice cream, specifically chocolate chip. "And ice cream," the president adds in agreement, "chocolate chip ice cream."
The video concludes with President Biden enjoying an ice cream cone, followed by an image of the White House adorned with a retirement home sign. The narrator then declares, "White House Senior Living, where residents feel like presidents."
Internet in splits
Social media erupted with laughter as the video went viral.
"I can't stop laughing at this, please help me feel bad so I'll stop. LMAO," one posted on X (formerly Twitter).
"Some residents play fur elise on the piano, others tell stories about corn pop and hairy legs," another quipped, playing along.
"Funny, because it's true," a comment read.
"Gold! This is pure gold!" someone else added.
"We need to start a GoFundMe to make this a Super Bowl Commercial," another insisted.

Jill Biden defends husband's vitality
In an interview with MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski on January 11, First Lady Jill Biden dismissed concerns about her husband's age. "I see Joe every day. I see him out, you know, traveling around this country. I see his vigor. I see his energy. I see his passion every single day," she said.
"He’s wise. He has wisdom. He has experience. He knows every leader on the world stage. He’s lived history. He knows history. He’s thoughtful in his decisions. He is the right man, the right person for the job at this moment in history," Jill said.
However, public opinion remains divided. An August poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research revealed that 77% of US adults, including 69% of Democrats, view Biden as too old for another four years in office.
A later poll from Monmouth University in October indicated that 48% of voters held similar concerns about Biden as compared to Trump, who will turn 78 in June.
Meanwhile, recent national polls from The Hill’s partner Decision Desk HQ show Trump leading Biden with 43.7 percent support compared to Biden's 42.6 percent.
