Cardi B seeks primary custody of children as she files for divorce from Offset after 7 years of marriage
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rappers Cardi B and Offset have decided to end their seven years of marriage.
As per reports, the ‘Drip’ crooner filed for divorce for the second time on Wednesday, July 31.
Cardi B dropped her initial divorce application in 2020
Cardi B has also requested primary custody of her daughter Kulture and son Wave. She previously filed for divorce from Offset in September 2020.
In her recent interview on ‘The Jason Lee Show' shared with ET, Cardi B reflected on her troubled relationship. “Me and Offset, we was not seeing eye-to-eye,” she said.
She added, “This was like, the same year I filed for divorce and everything. I’m gonna let him talk about this because the main thing that was really bothering me — I’ma let him say it,. I want him to say it because I feel like that’s really part of his story.”
Cardi, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, insisted that her husband has changed his ways. “The main thing that I wanted him to stop and everything, he stopped and he changed, and it showed me that he wanted to change for me,” she added.
After she withdrew her application for divorce back in 2020, Cardi B said, “I didn’t really want to talk about my relationship s–t because I know y’all sick and tired of me going back and forth with Offset.”
“Y’all sound f*****g crazy when you start using the word ‘abusive.’ I’m not in a physically abusive relationship. I’m not in a mentally abusive relationship. I have choices,” the rapper added.

Source says Cardi B and Offset's marriage is falling apart
Amid fresh divorce filing, a source told PageSix, “They’ve grown apart. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else. This is something she wants to do.”
Another insider said, “They both have been trying to figure out what their future looks like for a while now.”
“It’s not something that happened overnight … They’ve both been on the same page. There wasn’t [pushback]. They’ve grown apart and that feeling has gotten stronger over time. It’s become unavoidable,” it added.
