Carrie Underwood stuns viewers and fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan
Carrie Underwood’s fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan have nicknamed her “Jukebox Carrie” due to her extensive knowledge of songs and lyrics across various genres.
So, it was no surprise that they were stunned when she jumped in to sing backup for contestant Kobyn Melton, who performs under the stage name Insite, during his rendition of 'Bodies'.
After initially auditioning with Korn’s 'Freak on a Leash', Melton told the judges he wanted to “blow the roof off,” leading to an unexpected moment when Underwood joined him for Drowning Pool’s 'Bodies'.

The song, which was their debut single released in May 2001, was featured on their first album called 'Sinner'. During this part of the show, Underwood was clearly in her element, fully enjoying the moment.
As she made her way back to her seat, she enthusiastically told everyone in the room, “Woo! You got a good hype girl. That was high school for me… I’ve even crowd-surfed, people, okay!”

Lionel was caught off guard by the moment and replied, “We are learning about our judge.”
Though the judges initially questioned whether Insite’s heavy rock style fit 'American Idol', he ultimately earned a unanimous “yes” from all three.
