Sean "Diddy" Combs' defense team continued their cross-examination of Cassie Ventura on Friday morning, as questions focused on the time around the 2016 clip of the rapper attacking her at the elevator lobby of a hotel in Los Angeles, and his state of mind at that time, according to the Guardian.

Defense attorneys asked if she previously told investigators that Diddy was "blackout" during that incident, to which Cassie replied, "I believe he was intoxicated."

Diddy's lawyers also showed the court text messages she sent from a few days after the incident in which she told the music mogul, "I’m not a rag doll. I’m somebody’s child."

Before the lunch break, Cassie testified that she last saw Diddy at the November 2018 memorial service for Kim Porter, the mother of three of Diddy’s children, per the outlet.

Diddy's ex-girlfriend also denied a defense suggestion that she had been experiencing financial hardship before filing her civil lawsuit against the rapper in November 2023, which caused a $20m settlement just 24 hours after it was filed.

Cassie dated Diddy for over a decade before the two officially parted ways in 2018, People reported.

Cassie Ventura cited Bruce Willis in scathing texts to Sean 'Diddy' Combs

During her testimony on Thursday, May 15, Cassie Ventura detailed her former relationship with Sean "Diddy" Combs and revealed a private message exchange that laid bare her growing discontent.

One of the most striking moments on Thursday was the reading of a 2013 text where Cassie criticized Diddy for keeping her distanced from key areas of his life, particularly his children, despite their long relationship.

Cassie wrote, "As much as you think you're Bruce Willis, you aren't," as she referred to the actor’s harmonious relationship with ex-wife Demi Moore and their ability to co-parent while maintaining healthy new relationships.

Moreover, she also mentioned Eddie Murphy and his partner Paige Butcher as another example of a blended family done right.

She texted Diddy, "Eddie Murphy and Paige took his kids away on their own,” and noted how other men with children managed to prioritize their partners.

Cassie opened up about feeling emotionally unsettled for days in a message from July 2013, as she wrote, "I don’t think that you sympathize with my feelings."

She added, "I understand you feeling like you need to protect your children but after a while…it’s like for what?"
