LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Six months prior to his unfortunate death, Chance Perdomo faced the ire of netizens after Internet sleuths unearthed some of his controversial online activities. He was even conspicuously removed from the promo of 'Gen V' despite starring in the lead role of Andre Anderson.

The 27-year-old actor, famed for his performances in 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' and 'The Boys' spin-off 'Gen V', died in a motorbike accident on Saturday, March 30, as per Variety

Chance Perdomo controversy explained

In September 2023, a Redditor, u/summercloudsadness, compiled a series of screenshots that showcased Perdomo’s social media activities. Netizens weren't happy that the young actor followed Andrew Tate, a social media influencer known for sharing "misogynistic" views.

Having said that, the post of Tate that landed Perdomo in trouble was nothing but a motivational quote highlighting the importance of working hard to succeed in life, as per FandomWire.

The social media sleuths also found out he was following accounts like @unwokeism, @trad.masculinity, @alphaomegaandsigma, @masculinemindset_, @redpillhub, and @rightwingsavages, among others.

Perdomo apparently also liked a post that prefers a woman who "dreams" of becoming a mother over one who would aim to climb the corporate ladder.

He also supposedly liked posts supporting Johnny Depp during the infamous trial of the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Chance Perdomo was conspicuously edited out of a 'Gen V' promo

After the screenshots were unveiled, Perdomo was unceremoniously removed from the series’ promo, as per The Direct. The outlet reports that while the first promo video featured the actor, he was edited out of the second promo, which was released after the controversy.

The first promo video released through the series' official social media handle had Perdomo sitting beside his co-star Lizze Broadway. He was nowhere to be seen in the next promo, which featured all the other leads.

Some keen-eyed netizens did notice the editing as cropped hands and feet of Perdomo were apparently visible in the second promo.
