Swifties delighted as insider credits Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce romance for major NFL salary hike
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Swifties were on cloud nine recently after an NFL insider claimed that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's blooming romance is the reason behind the rise in the salary caps of the NFL. Previously, Swift's presence in the games boosted its viewership, encompassing a higher ratio of women viewers.
Kelce recently showcased a pure and hearty gesture of his love for the pop star as he flew to Sydney, Australia to attend Swift's Eras tour concert. He arrived at the venue sporting friendship bracelets and even interacted with Swifties while supporting his beau.

The Daily Mail reported that an NFL insider believes Swift and Kelce's relationship has contributed to a surge in the league's salary cap, which has reached a record $255.4M.
Swift and Kelce were a major talking point during this year's Super Bowl season, with Swift frequently attending Kelce's games, including the Super Bowl where Kansas City won against the 49ers.
The insider, who remained anonymous, suggested that Swift's presence may have influenced the salary cap increase, stating, "The league should send Taylor Swift a 'Thank You! ... she certainly didn't hurt!" The salary cap was reported to be $224.8M in 2023.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the NFL attributed the significant increase in the salary cap to two main factors.
Firstly, teams have repaid loans taken out during the pandemic-affected 2020 season to ensure players received their full salaries.
Secondly, the league cited a remarkable rise in media revenue for the 2024 season. Despite challenges such as the pandemic, the NFL's salary cap has increased by $57.2M since the beginning of the decade, with a slight decrease of approximately $16M in 2021.
