Channing Tatum says 'we back up' after weight transformation
Channing Tatum posted images on Instagram on Friday, March 21, highlighting his shifting weight for different roles.
"We back up! lol. 1st photo is today 205," he wrote. "2nd photo 235 for a movie called Josephine. Then went to 3rd photo which is 172 for a movie Roofman," he added.
The six-foot-one-inch actor filmed 'Josephine' in mid-2024 before transitioning to 'Roofman' in the fall.

Tatum credited his ability to change his body so drastically to his natural build and the team that helped him achieve his goals. "I’m so grateful for my genetics," he wrote.
Channing Tatum thanks his fitness team for supporting his weight shifts
Channing Tatum acknowledged the people who assisted him in reaching his various physical goals.
"Grateful for my chef/nutritionist/witch. Grateful for my trainer. I couldn’t make these big swings in my weight without you guys," he wrote.
However, he admitted that these changes have taken a toll on his body and that he intends to step away from extreme weight fluctuations.
"But I won't be doing anymore fat roles haha. It’s too hard on the body and too hard to take off now [sic]. But damn when I look at these pics it’s just wild what the human body and will can do," he added to the post.
Channing Tatum recalls how 'Magic Mike' body transformations challenged him
Channing Tatum has altered his physique for roles before, including for the 'Magic Mike' franchise.
He first showcased his recent weight loss for 'Roofman' on Instagram in October.
The physical demands of such transformations almost led him to decline the third installment, 'Magic Mike's Last Dance,' in 2023.
He spoke about the challenges of maintaining a certain physique while appearing on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' in 2022, referencing a still from the 2015 film 'Magic Mike XXL'.
"That might be the reason why I didn't want to do a third one," Tatum said, adding "Because I have to look like that."
He further reflected on the effort required to maintain such a lean figure.
"It's hard to look like that, even if you do work out, to be in that kind of in shape is not natural... you have to starve yourself. I don't think when you're that lean, it's actually healthy," Tatum said as per E! Online.
