The mother of Prince William and Prince Harry would have turned 63 on July 1. Although neither prince publicly acknowledged the day, a family member did celebrate—and with a stunning picture of the princess.

Charles Spencer, brother of Princess Diana, shared a gorgeous snapshot of his sister on his Instagram Story. He wrote above the picture, "63 years ago today..."

The lovely homage to Diana is a remarkably open one from Spencer. Although he has previously shared pictures of his sister, this one seems especially sentimental and nostalgic.

Spencer posted a picture of himself and his sister from their early years on Instagram back in April.

The caption for the photo read: "My first day of school, in September 1968: my father took this photograph of me and my sister, Diana, just before he drove us to Silfield, a really lovely primary school in King’s Lynn, Norfolk. The headmistress was Miss Jean Lowe, a warm and thoughtful lady who loved her boys and girls."

Diana's birthday serves as reminder of how depressing William vs Harry feud grown

Princess Diana would have turned 63 on July 1; Prince William and Prince Harry's tense relationship was further brought to light by the birthday.

In honor of Diana's birthday, royal analyst Jennie Bond told OK! (via Yahoo!), "The anniversary is obviously always a very sensitive time for William."

Bond added: "It is such a shame that he cannot share his feelings with the only other human being on earth who really knows what it was like to lose Diana: his brother, Harry."

She also said that William continued to draw inspiration from Diana by continuing her charitable work.

While William and Harry sometimes discuss their mother in private, it has been a while since they have done so in public. The brothers unveiled Diana's statue on the day their mother turned 60 in 2021, per PureWow.

William posted a picture of himself and his brother at the monument to Instagram along with a message on their behalf.

The statement read: "Today, on what would have been our Mother’s 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength and character – qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better. Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy."
